I've been an UnLace thrower for years but I got to the point where my form plateau'd and I needed something new, as well as a bag more stable than the UnLaces and Mambas and Mayas I had gotten used to. However, the Lace has been a constant throughout. I love the Vibram plastic; it works well for my high-spin type of RHBH throw. It's amazing in the wind, always carves out a solid S curve line, and finishes with a surprisingly big-ish finish left. Highly recommended if you can find an unused old one...medium stiffness works best for me.

I love Vibram. Some discs, such as the Lace, do become understable VERY quickly. Just a point about Vibram. The stability of the discs can be "reset" by applying heat to them. You can either cover them with very hot water for around 10 minutes, or you can microwave them for around 1-1.5 minutes. Allow then to cool before throwing again. The heat resets the stability. Just FYI. You can keep your Lace in the "sweet spot" almost indifinitely.

I am a dominant flick player and the lace is my go to distance driver for anything over 350 feet. I have 3 in the bag at all times in different stages of wear, a few of my buddy make fun of my rubber discs but once they tried them they were hooked... Most of them throw backhand and this is still their go to driver. They flex a bit and then come back at the end and are wonderful in the rain and snow because of the grip. (Stock up while you can because they are no longer make these discs.... ):

The Lace is a very long, glidey driver. Good speed and a fairly neutral flight. Will turn and burn if you torque too hard or into a headwind. I've never bagged this mold, but have thrown it enough in the field to get a decent feel for it. It'll basically hang with any driver out there in terms of distance. It seems maybe a hair slower than advertised and does seem to get knocked around by headwinds or crosswinds.

Its a touch finicky. Finding the right amount of arm to use for maximum glide/distance can be challenging. Sometimes the Lace will inexplicably flip over, other times it'll seem to stubbornly hyzer out. It definitely isn't the first disc I'd grab for shots requiring pinpoint accuracy.

I don't know if I'm a huge fan of the rubber its made of either. Sometimes in hot weather it seems to warp/bend and get overly floppy.

Still, its a decent mold and a very capable long distance driver. Flies like a Crank or Shryke.

I picked up this disk in the xlink med 175g looking for something I could bomb off the tee. This thing is one of the longest disc's in my bag. It will get me any where from 425 to 475 depending on my release angle. It has more turn for me that the -1 feels more like a -2 to a -3. Glides extreamly well. If you looking for long turn over or long anhyzer disc, this is the one. I only throw this disc rhbh, and never into a headwind that is more that a breeze, It will turn to far over. Great disc all in all.

For RHBH this disc is reliable and will glide forever.  For RHFH its very difficult to throw consistently. I have the x-link medium.  Its a little too grippy for me.  I can't imagine how grippy the x-link soft is!  Its almost like I try to let go of it and it sticks to my hand.  I'm going to re-order a x-link firm and see if its the same.  The turn is really more of a -2.0.

I'm not a consistent BH thrower for distance. I damaged my shoulder too much with competitive swimming, so for more power, I throw RHFH.  This disc is an absolute dream throwing FH. If released low and level, it will go for days, and quickly. Sometimes I do wish it would cut back more at the end, but then again, the disc is a -1/1.  That has more with my slight aim issues.

If you have power, you should live this disc.

The Lace was my first Vibram disc two years ago and now my entire bag is Vibram! this is my go to driver, and I carry a few of these in my bag  (beat-in for turnover shots, slightly beat-in for straight shots, and new with straight shots with a little fade at the end). I love they way the rubber feels in the hand and i never have the disc slip out like I did with the champion style plastic. this is my longest driving disc and I also throw the other Vibram Drivers (o-Lace, Solace, & Unlace). If you have a slower arm speed this will hyzer for you from the start, but the more your arm speed increases, the more this disc will turnover.

The Lace is fast, and very long, but the feel isn't super intimidating. you can easily grip the soft rubber, and though the rim is large it's far from imposing.

I wanted to see if the distance claims for this guy were true, and it does go really far. If you throw if low it will go fairly straight with little turn and fade until it finds it's target. Thrown higher the flight becomes finicky and harder to manipulate angles with.

Overall it's hard to say who would be the best user for the Lace. A beginner would not be able to throw it hard enough to get it up to speed, but an advanced player with good power would have to be careful not to overpower it.

Overall if your a mid level player with decent power and good form you should do pretty well with the Lace.

For some reason I just could not throw the lace correctly.  Sometimes I could get a great 350 foot throw out of it, but all too often I would grip lock it.  Somehow it would always catch on my finger as I release and cause it to shank off to the right.  I can't blame the disc for that entirely-- I mean maybe it's the rubber or the rim shape, but I simply couldn't throw it consistently.

But maybe I'm just bitter because I shanked it into a back yard with a couple of pitbulls who immediately chewed it up.  *Sigh*

If I had written this review a couple of years ago I probably would have given it a much better review. When I first picked up a Lace, I absolutely loved it. I was throwing Apes and a Dominator back then, and the Lace seemed to compare to these discs nicely. I was getting to around 400 feet with the Lace, and really liked the stability that it had to offer.

Soon after, I moved to Oregon, where it is near sea level and has a lot thicker air than Utah where I am from. After the first few rounds with the Lace I noticed that it had lost all of it's stability due to the thicker, lower air. I couldn't get this disc to even stay in the air because it was so understable.

The other problem with the lace is wind. This is probably the most horrible disc I have ever tried to throw in the wind. Sometimes it will get totally eaten up by the wind, allowing it to take the Lace wherever the wind might want to take it. Other times the Lace seemed unaffected by the wind, which would result in even more terrible shots because I would be trying to compensate for the expected extreme effect of the wind.

Although this disc is rated at speed 14, I don't think it has nearly the speed capability that a Rampage, Boss, or even Destroyer gets. The Lace is fast, but really not that fast.

Overall this disc is great if you play a course indoors, or are playing in an area with much thinner air that won't cause the Lace to lose all of it's stability.

I'm not a fan of the Lace and probably will never be seen throwing one in a serious round.

Excellent very long range driver. This is the longest disc in my bag. It is almost perfectly stable, but can turn or fade depending on the realese angle. The rubber material provides excellent grip even when wet.

The Lace is an excellent high speed driver for those with decent distance but not huge arms. It predictably varies in stability depending on weight: new and at 375' of power, low 160s Laces are flippy, upper 160s have a workable turn and reliable fade, and max weights are stable straight to fade that can handle a headwind. This predictability and versatility allows the Lace to cover a spectrum of lines - it's the only disc in its speed class that I bag as a result - and the supreme durability of Medium X-link wears very slowly, preserving stability through lots of use.

At my cited 375' average max D, slightly worn 167s are my magic bullet that routinely net me 25'-50' more than any other disc I bag. They've been more predictable for me to dial in than other max D discs for intermediate power that I've thrown (the King jumps to mind). The Lace is about as much of a security blanket for me as a distance driver can be.

I'd strongly recommend this disc as a stable distance driver to someone hitting 350'-375'. The lightest of Laces could be useful for lower power throwers, and big arms could possibly find space in their bag for a max weight Lace as a controllable turnover and hyzer flip distance driver.

Firm X-link wears faster than Medium though still at premium plastic-type speeds, and is recommended if you want to get a cycle going more easily. It doesn't have the transcendent grip of Medium, but still feels great.

First off, my Lace is 163g , in the "Medium" compound .
I give it 5 stars, but be aware the disc will become significantly less stable once it has broken in . At least mine did.

Mine was a gift from my bro in law after I lost 2 Westside Swords on a road trip. He had used the Lace and liked it, and so he bought one for me. I threw the Sword RHFH and so I naturally tried the Lace the same way.

The Lace worked GREAT for me for a few months, perhaps even out-throwing the Sword for max distance. Then one day I couldn't seem to get it to fly right, it kept turning over on me, seeming very unstable. I had since bought a new Sword, so I retired the Lace for a while and went back to using the Sword for my go-to FH max distance driver.

Well, a few months later I was having issues with my FH form. For whatever reason I tried using the Lace RHBH. Damn. Wish I had tried it sooner. This thing has easily added 50' to my BH drives.

IDK why, but I have a hard time throwing discs with a wide rim (over 1.9cm) BH. Can't seem to get a good grip on them. No, I don't have small hands (can palm a basketball). Somehow the Lace doesn't give me that issue. Perhaps it's the  extra grip from the rubber compound, IDK.

Previously I threw all my long drives RHFH , but sinc using the lace I have started throwing RHBH for those shots . Played one of my best games in a long time the other day using mainly the Lace and a Pure.

Sorry for the long winded review, just wanted to give you my experience.

PS. New it might be 14/6/-1/1 , after break in it seems to be more like 14/6/-2or-3/2

I bought this disc from infinite discs about a little over a year ago. It stays in my bag even though it's not my "go to driver" I found it to be fairly understable although that may of been due to the fact I bought mine in a lower weight. I use it a lot on heavily wood holes because the vibram rubber is tough stuff and I don't need to worry about whacking a tree. Overall a good driver but fairly touchy you need a good clean release for this one.

The grip of this material is amazing.  I have only thrown the lace a few times.  On a slight hyzer it will turn into a decent s-curve. The glide is awesome especially in a nice tail wind.

Threw a buddies lace around for a while and man it goes far. But it's also very squirrly with your release. Of you hit the sweet spot on your release it bombs if not you're throwing a second drive out of frustration

Hands down one of my all time favorite discs in my bag!  I always have a couple of these to use in different weights.  As a newer player this disc was a bit overstable for me, but I still really liked it even then.  Now as my game and ability has improved, it often gets that nice flight path like shown in the Inbounds flight guide where it will have some right hand turn with a nice reliable fade that's not too sharp!

I have this disc, in X-Link Medium and 171g, in my bag as my understable distance driver.  When thrown about 315 feet with a slight hyzer it flips into a straightish S-curve.  Once I start pushing it out to 380 feet I need to give it a lot of hyzer and a bit of height to work with.  Best for long left to right shots (RHBH) or sailing tailwind drives (my PR distance is 430+ feet with this disc in a tailwind.  It has great glide, and I wish that all of my drivers could be in this material (nice grip even when wet)

If I had to use only one driver, this would be it. This disc will do whatever you want when your going for major distance. Huge hyzers, straight shots, s-curves, long anhyzer lines; this disc does them all. It isn't the fastest disc so it is possible to turn it over if you rip it too hard, but if you have about a speed 11 arm you should try this disc out. I actually think it's pretty similar to my Archons but I like it better for some reason; it just feels better and is more consistant. My favorite shot with this thing is a sidearm with a slight hyzer angle on release and it flips up and goes straight for daaaaaays, until next week. Not the best disc in a headwind though and it doesn't skip much when landing (vibram rubber) so plan for that.

Back again, I am loving the Vibram Lace. Definitely throwing 350+ with this disc. I recently purchased another Vibram lace for Maty Mcgee's fund raiser sale. The fund raise is for McFlySoHigh youtube videob as he wants to shoot PDGA world championship and need some $$ to go to Oregon. I haven't tested other vibram discs, but only problem I find in Lace is that it is so oily out of the box. I have to wash it quite a bit to get rid of the oil.

Vibram Lace rocks. After trying several distance drivers, I figured out Vibram lace works great for me. After improving my throwing form, I am getting max distance with this disc. I am consistently getting 350+. My max distance with this disc (170 gm)today was at least 415 ft before it hit the fence. Since my pro destroyer has gotten so worn out that they have become so flippy and I can't seem to throw champion destroyer at all. I don't know if Lace would ever get flippy because they are made up of rubber and really durable. For me it goes really straight to slight right turn in a flat throw and fades left with a slight skip at the end. In an anhyzer throw it glides for daysss and always fades back to the left. I am really hoping to buy another Vibram lace or trade it with my brand new Z crank.

Well, I tested Vibram Lace (X-link medium, 170 gm) with my Star Katana (171 gm), Pro Destroyer (168 gm), and Champion Mamba (167 gm. The result is not what I expected: It's either Star Katana or Champion Mamba that were going farthest. I threw Mamba up to 376 ft and Katana was 370 ft as my farthest throw followed by Destroyer as 360 ft. The Vibram Lace was consistently shorter around 350 ft which is by no means a short distance anyway. I think for me, higher weight range >170 gm doesn't really work unless it is understable plastic like Discraft ESP. I still need to work on my mechanics and drive though.

I am an intermediate power thrower and prefer RHBH. My max distance was with Star Katana 360 feet or so as my best throw, but haven't thrown that much after that. I recently tested Vibram Lace X-link medium 163 gm that I borrowed from my friend. After throwing couple of shots I was hooked. The Vibram Lace was giving me at least 30 feet of extra distance than my Katana or Destroyer. Although the distance was good, I found this disc a little inconsistent in flight, may be because I was throwing 163 gm. I figured if I put enough hyzer on this disc it will flip and go straight as an arrow and fade slightly before hitting ground. Sometime it would go straight to right. Not a very good disc in windy condition I think, at least in headwind. It may be due to less weight or very flexy rubber, not sure though. I recently ordered 170 gm x-link medium and am desperately waiting for it. Once I get this disc I will go to open field or par 4 holes and see if I can smash some big D.

Meh...so it's like this.... I can't speak for solid color Laces vs tri colored laces, because I only have a tri color lace, but nonetheless, I don't know exactly how I feel about it yet. First impressions are honestly not all that good. I've heard it was flippy...well mine isn't flippy. I've heard it's the farthest flying disc on the market...well mine isn't the farthest flying disc on the market. When the plastic gets moist, it feels really weird, kinda slippery, and just odd. It's not a bad disc, and perhaps I just haven't got really used to it yet. For me however, the disc is not really consistent and as of now only gets use in the practice field. I will update once I figure it all out,
