This is a disc that i am going to have to build a stockpile of. With Vibram leaving the scene, i bought some discs from them just for the novelty aspect. When i first started throwing about 5 years ago my brother and i found a lace with no name at a local course and it quickly became one of our favorites. i remember both of us always arguing over who got to use it each round. one day we lost it in a water hole and spent hours looking to no avail. when i heard vibram was out, i immediately hopped online to purchase a couple for old time sake. They ended up in the bag and what they have done for my game as been extraordinary!! i bag in both a medium and a firm which i alternate depending on temp. Not having a big arm, i was worried this disc would be too stable for me....but fortunately i was wrong. there is something about the way this disc sits in my hand that lets me throw long straight lines with glidey, predictable finishes left. My ultimate go to for dog legs or windy drives.

This is the easiest speed 14 disc I've ever thrown. I have a Star Tern which is the closest thing I can compare it to and it flies similarly. I didn't think it was anything special and something about it just feels off. I can't seem to throw it as consistently as my Tern. I'd say it has less glide and more turn than advertised. Feels more like a speed 12 too.

The Vibram Lace is an excellent driver.  It flies very straight, holds angles well, and is very predictable.  Although it is a higher speed than most would recommend for beginners, the predictability of its flight makes it very good for learning consistent form.  If you make the same throwing motion every time, the Lace will fly the same every time.  This is furthered by Vibram rubber's characteristic durability.  I've played many rounds with it, and it is the same as the day it came in the mail.

Like most vibram drivers, the flight numbers are waaaaay off for the Lace.  The arm speed required to get this thing to turn over is much lower than the listed 14 speed would indicate.  As an example, I can barely get a 12 speed Innova Tern to S-curve, and the Lace will turn and roll for me.  Newer players will appreciate the Lace - the rubber is very grippy and durable, and with the right arm speed they will get a nice amount of turn.  Experienced players may try the Lace for a roller or turnover disc.

This disc glides like none other. I used to throw a Discraft Nuke and Innova Wraith and have just switched to the Lace and Solace. Since a week ago when I made the switch I gained about 50 meters of distance off the tee. I highly recommend this disc. It is my new true boo from the tee. I think it is more overstable than a 1, however.

a fast stable long distance driver. When I first picked up the Lace I quickly noticed how wide the rim was. The rim comes in at 2.4cm wide. For comparison sake, other discs on the market with a 2.4cm wide rim include: Innova Ape and Latitude 64 Bolt. A Discraft Nuke comes in at 2.5cm and an Innova Destroyer at 2.2cm. I have average size hands. Personally, the widest rims I’m comfortable with are Destroyers. Anything larger than that and I dont’ feel like I have control of the disc. The Lace did feel comfortable in my hand though. I also noticed a slight dome on the disc. Due to the X-Link rubber, there is some give to the top. The dome is gradual, looks like it should be there by design and not by mistake. The dome did bring some noticeable glide to my throws. rating= 13/6/-3/3

First: this is a very LOOOoong Katana if you want a comparison. It flys with the same turn/glide/fade but for me will usually fly 30-50ft longer. That being said, when things get warm or your arm speed increases/form improves, this becomes one of the most understable discs in your bag. I have been experimenting with forhand rollers and this just flips/stands up and....I just need more practice. On a more practical note if you put just a little hyzer on a forhand drive it will flip flat and glide forever. One last thing, I love this disc for slightly wet skip shots. Like rubber sole shoe on a convenience store floor, if it is slightly wet at all, count on the skip....if it is dry, count on the dead stop-.

This was my very first distance driver. In lower speeds, it was just dead straight. Later, I've stopped to control it for some reason. Now, it still has its place in my bag, for overheads, long annies and rollers. Great grip, this plastic will survive everything.

This disc is a bit stable for me but performs well in a headwind.  In the wind goes long and straight.  I have great success with this disc when doing a flick shot.  Very durable and grippy.  Easy to throw long and is controllable.  Love it!

Early on when I first got this disc it was really overstable for, but as I progressed I found myself throwing this disc more and more. Now this disc is a go to whenever I'm looking to throw big distance. For me this driver flies nice and straight with a small fade at the end. In a headwind, I'll get some pretty big turn out of it. Either way, the glide keeps it up in the air for max distance.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Lace. My first one was amazing. I could hit 430+ ft with it on a regular basis. It acted more like a -2, 2 than a -1,1. Sadly I lost it into a river on a monster 460+ ft throw. That was the love, here is the hate: I loved the first one so much that I've since tried to throw 4 others, none of which throw anything like one another. All of them were extremely understable, one like a sidewinder, another like a roadrunner. One threw great for about 2 weeks then suddenly out of nowhere (in the middle of a round without even having hit anything with it) it went insanely understable. Now, I'm a flicker so things are a bit different for us weirdos, but the gripe I have is the inconsistency of the rubber. Also, when you play in the heat the rubber becomes extremely malleable.

i have been throwing my vibram lace x link firm for about a week now and i am very impressed with it. i have been discing for 25 years and have had difficulty with the modern wide wing distance drivers. this driver has changed that for me. i have always liked heavy disc but decided to dial down on the weight of this driver and am glad i did. at 166 it is by far the lightest disc in my bag. at 50 years old i don't have the blazing arm speed of the much younger guy's i disc golf with, but find that i can consistently get 375 to 400 + feet with this driver. it flies dead stable for about 95 percent of the flight with a solid fade at the end and most interesting it skips forward left after hitting the ground unlike other vibram disc i throw. so far the firm X link material seems very durable but i think i like the medium X link material better. next im going to try the unlace and then the O lace once it becomes available. i am very impressed with vibram disc and find that they are ousting many other brands from my bag that have been there for a very long time. by the way i throw RHBH.

    still loving my firm X link lace on 10 - 2 - 2014
