The Innova Thunderbird is said to be predictable in the wind, but not so overstable that it's hard to keep straight. If you’re looking for a consistent driving disc that is slightly faster than the TeeBird3, the Thunderbird is for you. This likely won’t be the fastest or furthest flying driver in your bag, but when it comes to a workhorse driver with the right blend of speed and reliability, the Thunderbird exceeds expectations.

Innova says this of the Thunderbird: “The Thunderbird comes from strong bloodlines. The stability of a TeeBird with the speed of a Valkyrie; it could be best described as a seasoned Firebird, but with less fade. The Thunderbird is still predictable in the wind and a great choice for your new favorite long-range placement driver."

Physically comparing it to a Firebird they seem to have the exact same bottom but a sharper top.  I like it, but it definately should never be called a long Teebird, which I hear just as much as a glidier Firebird.

A great disc for windy days, very reliable in all conditions. Love throwing this disc on a flex line through the woods.

Halo Star plastic is definitely more over stable.

This disc just may replace my firebird. I feel it has better grip, and the edge and rim are not as aggressive, yet it can do the same things. Highly recommend this for players looking to throw a disc on an hyzer and get it to flip out and fade or for a nice reliable forehand disc that will handle any torque.

Love how it feels in the hand and how it doesn't hurt like a firebird does.

I love this disc.  I won my first tournament because of it.   I can put everything into, throw it almost 300, and trust that I won't accidentally turn it over too far like my normal star Thunderbirds sometimes do.   On forehand if you get a little happy with your torque, this will fight out of it more closer to a Firebird.

It's a good balance of being overstable, but not unweildly.  I can give it a full pull and it feels comfortable.  Great for line-drive lazers.   Perfect for 15 MPH wind.

I am a high rec, low intermediate player, 875 rated.    For more of a beginner that can throw 300', I would recommend maybe a TeeBird, or a Star Thunderbird, but not max weight, closer to 167g.   If the beginner player has a forehand, then maybe there room for quicker adaption of this disc.

    174g Halo Star Plastic

Every person I have ever talked to about this disc has said the same things to say, "I love Thunderbirds!!!" Or, "I carry multiple Thunderbirds in my bag." As well as,"I have yet to find another disc quite like the Thunderbird."

This disc accomplishes so much for a Fairway Driver. It's got the control of a Teebird, with the distance potential of a Destroyer and a predictable fade that will keep you on target. It will keep its flight characteristics and overstability for much longer than most. This will be a go to for stock hyzers and controlled placement shots.

As a beginner you may have trouble throwing this disc as its overstability will make it hook up just like a Firebird if you don't have the arm or form to take advantage of its specialty. But once you've grown into this disc, you will find yourself going back to it time after time.

Pros: Teebird-like control and characteristics with Destroyer distance potential.

Cons: A bit too overstable for beginners.
