The Innova Thunderbird is said to be predictable in the wind, but not so overstable that it's hard to keep straight. If you’re looking for a consistent driving disc that is slightly faster than the TeeBird3, the Thunderbird is for you. This likely won’t be the fastest or furthest flying driver in your bag, but when it comes to a workhorse driver with the right blend of speed and reliability, the Thunderbird exceeds expectations.

Innova says this of the Thunderbird: “The Thunderbird comes from strong bloodlines. The stability of a TeeBird with the speed of a Valkyrie; it could be best described as a seasoned Firebird, but with less fade. The Thunderbird is still predictable in the wind and a great choice for your new favorite long-range placement driver."

My Flight Ratings: 9/5/0/2.5 Not Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

Summary: Most companies call 9 speeds fairways/control drivers, but I believe this one is correct to be called a distance driver.

Feel: You know Champion plastic already, great firmness and great give on the flight plate. The dome on the Thunderbird lets it just glide forever, and makes it a bit more overstable than you might think off of the flight numbers. Even though the side profile may make it look a bit tall, it's still very comfortable in the hand.

Flight: Like I said, the dome gives it more glide, but also makes it more overstable. I think the flight numbers come more from the torque resistance, it's not so overstable when thrown very hard but can hold up to 100% power throws.

Great disc from brand new. Thrown flat, has a nice straight long flight with gentle fade at end. Thrown with hyzer, has a gentle long hyzer line. Would recommend to anyone beyond the beginner stage of the game.
