The Launch is a stable, straight-flying midrange from Vibram that will help beginners and slower arms gain confidence. When thrown with speed, this disc can handle head winds with a predictable turn in the end. Tail winds can take this disc straight and long. Players with good control and arm speed will love this disc on tighter, wooded shots that present a lower ceiling and they want to throw the shot on a b-line. The launch feels great in your hand and will prove itself worthy of being added to your bag.

I am a big fan of a lot of Vibram discs, so I was excited to try out the Launch right after it came out. Maybe my testing experience was a bit tainted by the fact that I'd just played a lot of holes of disc golf and was wearing out by the time I started throwing the Launch, but I struggled to get consistency from the disc.

I tried to figure out where it would land when compared to the Obex and Ibex. I really  like both of those discs and feel like I can get them to fly the same with every throw. But I couldn't get that feeling with the Launch. Sometimes it would fade a lot more than expected, and other times it would fly straighter. Again, it could have been my own inconsistency in throwing, but after a couple dozen throws, I still hadn't figured out how I'd use the disc. I couldn't get it to take an anhyzer line and glide out, because it fought back too much. I couldn't get it to hold a very straight line unless I threw it really low. Yet the fade also wasn't predictable for me, like an Obex is predictable.

I talked to my friend who was also testing the Launch and asked what he thought, and he actually said the same thing..."I can't figure it out." So, when it comes to Vibram mids, I'll stick with my Obex and Ibex. For my long-glide anhyzers, I'll stick to my Vamp, which I absolutely love. Maybe one day I'll revisit the Launch and see if I can get a real feel for her.
