The Thought Space Athletics Synapse is a professional level distance driver for maximum distance and performance.

Striking a harmonious balance between distance and accuracy, the Synapse is the flagship entry into the true "pro" distance driver slot for Thought Space Athletics. It is stable enough to handle big arm speed or a stiff headwind, with just a hint of high-speed turn. The Synapse finds its equilibrium as the reliably stable long-bomber in your bag.

I thought at first that maybe the disc was a bit heavier than some others and was therefore not carrying as far, but checking the weights found that this wasn't the case. It just doesn't seem to glide as far as other discs in the same Turn/Fade range. I've been VERY pleased with the performance and quality of other TSA discs (in Ethos and Aura plastics), and the Ethereal plastic of my Synapse looks cool (the design does as well), feels good, and I seems like it should have good durability, too. So it's a quality disc, but flight-wise I find I can get more out other options.

This is the only Thought Space disc I would NOT recommend. The rest of their lineup is fantastic. I am reviewing this after seeing 3 high-distance players try to throw the thing in multiple plastics. It is not a worthy Destroyer clone and TSA should really consider changing the mold for future runs. It just drops out of the sky, even for power distance throwers. Not a good wind disc either as it is somehow so bad that it has high fade but low predictability.

Went in expecting something near an Emperor and ended up with a stiletto. MEATHOOK CITY without much glide. This disc wanted to get to the ground as soon as possible. A friend said the max weight were flippy while lighter weights (I was 168g) just ran more overstable. Perhaps I'll check out a max weight, but I find the Emperor, Enigma, and Wraith to be better fits. It is a very pretty disc, and it will be very nice in my collection of pretty discs. Sadly, we don't get along.

I went in thinking the synapse would be a slightly beat in destroyer or even just a destroyer clone. I knew nothing about this disc and I was able to throw it with no expectations outside the flight numbers. I was pleasantly surprised to find this disc did seem to fly like a slightly bet up destroyer but with my, not huge, arm it did not give me the -1.5 turn like in the flight numbers. I could get a nice straight ride when thrown flat and a hard fade at the end. I would say it flies like a beat in destroyer because I am able to push it flat for a majority of the flight and with a fresh destroyer I am not able to do that. I would say it is still more of an intermediate to advanced players disc and would advise newer players to get something slower and less table. But without being able to test a beat in Synapse I can't say with certaintly how well this disc flies after some use. I think the Synapse is a great disc if you accept that it may be a bit overstable for slower arms and may flip more for faster arms.

I still consider myself new to the sport, so take that in consideration.  That being said, it's a beautiful disc, I love the plastic, and as always... the art is amazing.  However... turn???  I don't seem to get any.  Granted, I may not have the power to match this disc's speed but even when thrown with anhyzer this disc more or less begins to fade right out of the hand.  I also can't get the distance from this disc that I can from others with similar or even less speed.  I'm going to keep practicing with it in the field and it may beat in to have a bit more glide, but right now it's more or less a very overstable, 200-250ft, reliably fading disc.  I don't hate it, but it's not one I reach for often.

I picked up 173 gram Synapse's in both Ethereal and Aura plastic.

Stamp is beautiful, plastic is beautiful - MVP throwers will be familiar with both Aura (Neutron) and Ethereal (Plasma) plastics, which seem to be nearly identical but slightly more stiff than the MVP counterparts. Overall they feel great in my hand (bigger hand size), the Ethereal (Plasma) especially is one of my favorite plastics and I always get a clean release with very few early releases or slip outs.

The discs have identical profiles and fly about the same so far. As others have mentioned, they are more flat and OS than expected (I have 400ft+ of power but am at 5000-6000ft of elevation so take that with a grain of salt). The stars I took off are only because I was expecting something with a bit more glide and a bit of turn when thrown flat. A flat shot for me will fly straight with no turn and fade a bunch at around 370ft ish. If I release with even a bit of hyzer it doesn't flip up at all and ends up way left which is a pretty punishing result for a slight error. I am trying to beat in the Ethereal Synapse first as it should be a bit less durable and will update this review accordingly.

I got two of both plastics some lighter some heavier. They are super comfortable in the hand - especially the ethereal plastic. But as the other review mentions they're very flat. They feel and fly quite similar to flatter dd3s that I've tried. Honestly I'd like more glide out of these to make feel 100% confident to switch out my destroyers for these. But they're comfortable enough, and fly like a typical 12 speed driver, and they're gorgeous so all in all great but not perfect.

My go-to forehand distance driver is the emperor and I expected this disc to be similar. According to the flight numbers, it should be a little more flippy with a more overstable finish. I've definitely found that this thing is more overstable than what the numbers state. It's not crazy beefy, but it's beefy for sure. Both the ethereal and aura are pretty flat it seems. Very comfortable in the hand and from the side profile, look just like my spatter s blend emperor. Overall, I'm hoping this thing beats in over time and ends up flying just like my spatter s-blend emperor because it seems they're hard to find.
