The Omen is an overstable 9-speed driver from Thought Space Athletics. If you need a solid, hard fade when throwing side-arm, backhand, or overhead, you can always count on the Omen. It is an excellent overstable utility driver and a pre-level, high-performance disc for power throwers.

This disc is great for those secret left bh shots, you can put this disc on almost any angle and it will fade out. The Nebula Ethereal plastic is also one of the best plastics to hold and throw from any company I've tried; I would greatly recommend this disc.

If you're looking for an overstable utility fairway, this meat hook is it. I was looking for a disc that would be similar to Discraft’s Pulse for straight to overstable forehand drives but ended up filling a different slot in the bag. The Omen doesn’t have much potential for distance in my opinion but makes up for it in its short game. I mainly use this disc for forced flex shots, dog legs, skip shots, or the occasional tomahawk. The only disc I can really think of comparing the Omen to is the Z-line Captain’s Raptor if the Captain’s Raptor had less glide. I use this disc specifically as a utility disc, but this has been my experience with the Aura and Nebula Ethereal plastics so far:

    1. 174g Aura Plastic & 172g Nebula Ethereal
      1. Pros
        1. (Aura)Grippy plastic that is comparable to the feeling of ESP FLX plastic while the mold itself is very stiff
        2. Good ground action for skip shots
        3. Fights the wind regardless of wind speed
        4. (Aura)Slightly more glide than the Nebula Ethereal
        5. Remains very overstable, even after being beaten in
        6. Eye catching foil/plastic color combinations
        7. (Nebula Ethereal)Forced, compact flex shots are easily achievable
        8. Stays to a direct line when throwing a tomahawk or thumber – Not much corkscrew action from the disc
        9. (Nebula Ethereal)Extreme flat top
        10. Consistent flight between plastic types
      2. Cons for both as they are used for the same utility shots
        1. Max distance of roughly 275 feet
        2. Aggressively overstable – More of a crash and burn than actual fade
        3. Shot accuracy takes a while to dial in

Most of the cons that came to mind didn’t really come into play as I use this disc strictly as a utility disc where the issues can be negated easily. I would recommend the Omen to players who are looking for more of a utility slot disc. Anything other than that and I would pass.
