The Mantra by Thought Space Athletics will fly straight at a manageable speed for new players but will have a more understable flight for experience throwers. It can be used for precision drives or for anhyzer lines and power rollers. It's an all-purpose driver with great glide that feels and flies wonderfully.

    Plume Details

Plume is a premium plastic that uses microbubble technology to produce lightweight discs with evenly distributed, imperceptible, weight-reducing microbubbles. Discs made in Plume plastic are still durable, long-lasting, and deliver high performance while offering weights that are often better for players with slower arm-speeds.

    158g Plume

I've been wanting to try some TSA discs but they've always been too heavy for me so I'm happy that they've released the Mantra in their new Plume plastic. It feels like Star plastic with decent grip. The underside of the rim has pretty much zero flashing so it feels very smooth. The Mantra is a very comfortable feeling disc. I measured the rim to be 20mm so I would say it's a 10 speed disc and it feels and flies like a 10 speed. This disc is matching the distance of my faster drivers with less effort required! I do find it to be a little sensitive to power and release angle though. You need your release to be just right, but when you get it right you will be rewarded with an awesome flight with some nice turn and mild fade stretching your distance out to max. I throw about 300 feet max so for me I would say the flight numbers are correct except for the speed. I immediately ordered a second Mantra and I hope TSA releases some more discs in Plume plastic.

This is my new favorite fairway driver.  I can get it to go about 30 feet farther than my other fairway drivers. It's also very predictable and flies straight when I want it to. I have the 158g plume plastic.  BTW: I"m in my mid 70's.

I'm not able to edit my review of the Ethos version from November, so I'm adding this review for one we got in the new Plume plastic. As intended, I got a Black Friday replacement (on a What-Not auction) for the one that was lost. I actually gave this new one to my wife for Christmas, and it's taken a while for enough good weather to get out and test it. It's still a great disc model, and she really likes it (though it shares time with the Construct, Saint, Maya, and a pair of Krakens); however, there are some plusses and minuses relative to the Ethos Mantra: The lighter weight granted by the Plume plastic helps it travel a bit farther, but also makes it a bit more torque sensitive, giving it slightly more Turn. That doesn't make much difference to my wife who doesn't throw with a lot of power; and it might even help her. It also has a little more grippiness, if you're looking for that. For me, the one knock against this version is that the Plume plastic doesn't seem to be as durable as the "7" Durability score shown in its description. As mentioned, we haven't had much opportunity to use it since Christmas, and my wife's only got maybe 150 ft max-distance power, but it's already rather scuffed up and has some notches and a tear along the edge. It's hard to say which plastic grade from other brands it is (or feels) most like; but comparing the type of wear it exhibits with that of other discs (all of which have been through much more use), it seems to be better than DX and the Prime/Retro Burst plastics, and falls somewhere between those and Divergent's Max Grip plastic (listed Durability of 5). It might feel a little more like I-Blend (listed Durability of 6) than Max Grip, but the I-Blend discs appear to be holding up better even after seeing more use.

One of my new favorite discs. Best distance hyzer flip discs I've ever owned and I just purchased another.
