The Animus is a high-performance distance driver with a moderately overstable flight pattern. It handles torque well when thrown by experienced players, but does not have so much fade that it is unmanageable by recreational players who need an overstable driver in their bag. It has been compared to a cross between an Innova Wraith and Thunderbird.

Love the feel of these guys plastics and the animus is no exception. Feels so good In the hand.  No longer in my bag  after a year,  but still in the back up box in case I lose my D model S.

I picked this up on a whim, looking for a straight-flying 11-speed with a consistent fade at the end, as I was liking but not loving my Latitude 64 Grace. This has quickly become one of my all-time favorite discs. It just GOES. I'd put the glide a touch higher than 5 because it really does want to fly down the fairway.

The flight is super consistent, even putting it on a slight or moderate hyzer it always fades back at the end. The other thing I've found wonderful is that I can really blast this one with my forehand. I don't necessarily mean it's super torque resistant, although I'm sure it is. I've just always gotten more distance with my backhand, and I've never been able to forehand 11 speeds very well, but this one is the exception. It's the only disc I can forehand just about as far as I backhand, which has opened up a bunch of options off the tee for me.

It's like a longer-flying Thunderbird, but the rim is still super confortable in the hand. I won't say this one is definitely beginner friendly, but I think certain people who catch on quicker and have decent arm speed would be able to throw this one very well, especially with a baseball background throwing it forehand.

Disc feels great in hand, but about as floppy as they come. Typically can push a wrath/anax to 340-360 straight line. This hyzer flips hard and will turn into a roller with a slight headwind. Flies similar to a hatchet/heat.

Simular experience to some of the other reviews here. Was looking for an overstable Trace. The Animus I got is SUPER flippy. Like, release on hyzer, almost turns into a roller for me. Very unfortunate, definitely not what I wanted. The plastic feels nice though.

I feel like the Animus is the Wraith of the Thought Space lineup. When I first felt the Animus I immediately enjoyed the 11 speed rim that I get with Wraiths or Traces. For me the 11 speed is very much underappreciated and underused because most players can see a lot truer flights with an 11 speed than say a 12 or 13. I feel like the Animus was quite true to a new Wraith or Trace where they start out on the overstable side. You can trust a new Animus to hold straight and fight out pretty significantly at the end of the flight. As you beat it in you will notice that you can get some great flip out of it and rely on some long distance shots even though it is not the widest rim. I love flipping up discs and the Animus was able to get a great hyzer flip with a finish that pushed well into the 370's with what felt like minimal effort. I could see a lot of people finding this disc to be a workhorse distance driver and potentially the furthest flying disc in their bag if they beat on in. The animus can be used from intermediates all the way up to pros.

I'm new to disc golf having played Ultimate for 20 years. I bought a lot of discs before this one and man am I glad I stumbled upon this bad boy. It doesn't require too much power to get some great distance and it won't turn over on you even after getting beaten in like mine has.

This disc will sail a bit right for RHBH, flip up and glide for a while before fading out. The fade is noticeable but not so much that it affects accuracy much. This is now my go-to driver after starting with a Champion Beast. This thing flies further and is more consistent in its flight than the Beast ever was and quickly knocked the Beast out of my bag. Plus the stamps are gorgeous. First time I pulled this disc out of my bag my friend immediately asked what it was. Highly recommend this disc for beginner/intermediate players who have the throwing motion somewhat down.

This disc feels great. I love the new plastic. It looks amazing, and flies great for my arm speed. It really fit a gap in my bag which was the longer, straighter disc. I have a slower arm speed and i am able to get the disc turning right a little bit, then it glides for a log time and fades out just a little. The fade is consistent but not aggressive for me. I feel the fight numbers are accurate. This disc will quickly become a staple in my bag.

I honestly bought this disc because I liked the design of the Ethereal, but boy am I glad that I did!  I got it at 169 g to have something a little lighter in my bag.  This may have become my primary driver.  One of the best impulse buys that I have had.

Much closer to a neutral driver than an overstable one, but it does it very well. I would also consider this more glidey (in ethereal plastic) than the numbers would suggest. If you have a fast arm I would not recommend throwing this flat or on an anhyzer as it will burn on you rather quickly. However, if thrown correctly, this thing will fly straight as an arrow with a fade at the end that keeps it from skipping 90% of the time. This fits in my bag next to a halo wraith, I can get this disc farther and on a straighter line than the wraith but it isn't reliable for headwinds or forehand shots like the wraith is.

This is a great complimentary disc usable in 80% of situations, just don't make it the only fairway driver you bag. The plastic and stamp are top notch as well, but with TSA that should be expected already.

Touchier than the numbers suggest. Marketed as a mix between wraith and thunderbird. I get what they mean, as it kind of does feel like both, but if you throw it with the same power you would a wraith, it definitely turns over more. I'd say -1.5, at least in the ethereal plastic. Once you figure out the touch on it it really does go, and looks amazing doing it. Wouldn't recommend it for forehand dominant players.

I purchased one Ethereal and one Ethos  both 175G. basically Star plastic and champion plastic. Only played one round with each disc and didn't notice much if any difference in the flight path. I am very happy with the purchase and believe that these will be my workhorse drivers. Looking forward to seeing how they break in. Held up in 15mph winds - didn't turnover and feels great in the hand. I will let everyone know in a few months how they have beat in.
