I've thrown K1 Kaxes for a while, and found a K2 Kaxe in the used bin at my local store. Holy moly, it's a perfect winter disc. Its around the freezing point in my area and my harder plastic is super stable and very hard on the hands. The K2 plastic is still perfectly stable and feels amazing in the hand. I bought a K2 Berg after throwing this disc and the K2 plastic is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

This mid-range disc feels like a mid, throws like a mid, but if I really give it some power it flies like a more predictable Explorer. I highly recommend this mold to any arm speed.

Beautiful flight!  This is what I wanted my Verdict to do. 
I through about 325 ft max., but not with this disc. 

The flight is straight, no hint of turn over, no hint of going left
until about 80% of the distance, then it has a gentle face, just
perfect (no dump).  That is for an 8 ft high throw. 

I'd say my Lucid 176g Emac Truth goes the same distance,
probably because it stays straighter at the end.  The Kaxe
is more stable than the Emac Truth. 

The verdict is probably coming out of my bag now, because
it's  less stable (than the Kaxe) and dumps more at the end..

I got a Kaxe K2 172g white disc.

Warning!  This is more flexible than GStar plastic.  It seems too flexible for me.

I have not thrown it yet.  I wish I had gotten a K1.

I bought this disc looking for a stable midrange to compliment my Mako. After one round and quite a few throws at my practice basket, I can say that the Kaxe is so much more than a midrange. In the hand, the K2 plastic feels identical to my star Mako, with a slightly sharper edge. It even feels the same coming out of the hand. Mid flight, the Kaxe stays in a laser line. Super fast flight for what it is. I gave it a 7 speed rating because I feel like it flies the same speed as a teebird. The Kaxe is a very stable disc. I don't have big arm speed by any means (350' on a good day), but I can rip into this disc without any fear of it turning over. A rare commodity in a mid. But its not a meathook either. It has a very gentle fade. The best aspect of this discs flight, however, is its end game. Watching the disc fly and how fast it goes, I expected it to flare up at the end like most speed 7 discs. But the Kaxe stays put even on a wide hyzer line on the pine needles of New Hampshire. It drops just like a putter. 

Honesty, I think this disc is a game changer. I wouldn't be surprised if it pushes all of the fairway drivers and rocs out of my bag. It's that good. I could easily see this becoming my favorite disc. Well done Kastaplast. Well done. 

Roc + Teebird = Kaxe

The Kaxe by Kastaplast is criminally underrated. You won't find many discs on the market that fly as consistently as the Kaxe on a variety of lines from 200-300+ ft. 

The Kaxe is a "tweener" mold. This means that its speed are right in between traditional mid ranges and fairway drivers. Not everyone has thrown a disc of this speed but many players would benefit from the inclusion of one in their bag. 

I find the flight of the Kaxe to be that of a mini Teebird. It possesses the ability to crush out to fairway distances but also powers downs beautifully into mid-range territory. The high speed stability of the Kaxe is quite stubborn. Even when forced onto an Anny line you will find that it wants to level out and fly without turn. As it slows down, the Kaxe has a reliable hyzer finish. The fade is strong but not extreme.

The profile of the mold is also quite unique. The Kaxe is a small diameter mid-range. This means that it is closer in size to a driver than that of a traditional mid. You will also notice that it does have a small bead on the lower wing. This is what gives that stubborn HSS that the Kaxe is known for. In the hand it feels small, compact and exceptionally comfortable.

You can’t go wrong with either K1 or K2 plastic. K1 is a firm, Prodigy-esque plastic that is quite grippy. K2 is a gummy variant that tends to mold up just a smidge flatter. K1 has a touch more stability vs. its softer counterpart.

Overall: The Kaxe is a Game Changer. There are very few discs on the market like this one. I reach for my Kaxe often for shots that are uncomfortably long for my mids but just below driver territory. Pick up a Kaxe and you’ll agree… Kastaplast is making some of the most unique, versatile discs on the market.
