My K1 Kaxe Z is a nice torque resistant stable mid/driver. Its pretty true to its turn and fade ratings. Thrown flat it in calm conditions it will maybe show the slightest hint of turn but stay basically straight for most of its flight, and end with a pronounced but not dumpy fade. What Im not sure I agree with is the 5 glide Kastaplast gave it. Seems more like a 4 glide disc to me. It relies on decent power and spin to get a decent flight. It does ok with moderate headwind, but can get squirrely as well. The rim is very comfortable imo, striking that perfect balance between a 5 speed midrange rim and 7 speed driver rim. 

I never thought I'd be disappointed in a Kastaplast disc. I bought this because a friend has been throwing his for about a year and it flies exactly as the numbers suggest, straight for about 250 with a long pushing fade to finish, but mine is not the same. Mine jumps out of the hand and starts turning immediately, and will sometimes have a light fade at the end. It reminds me a lot of a brand new K1 Stig, and I use it as such. My original Stig is pretty beat in and incredibly flippy, so this disc has taken that slot. 

It still gets used almost every round, but unfortunately I can't use it for what I intended.  

Mine is K1 Line. This disc is just odd. On the surface, you'd think it'd be moderately stable and fall somewhere between a normal mid and a normal fairway. Flight numbers for mine were definitely off. I'll give it some credit. It did fly straight. For the first bit of the flight anyway. Then it would just dump out of the sky. Not a pushing fade at all. Mine fought out of anhyzers around 75% of the flight then again, just fell to the ground. It was just strange. It wasn't quite dumpy like an approach disc, but not like a normal stable tweener fairway either. It was hard to describe. Maybe I got an odd run of them. 

Initially bought the disc with the impression that it would glide for days along with having the stability to be torqued. I very quickly realized there was a lot more turn for me and while it glides a ton, I usually only use it for shots that I want to finish right.

The one I got was way more understable than the numbers. I would compare it to a Buzzz SS. Nice disc for flat release turnover shots that finish to the right (RHBH) around 275-300 feet. I imagine it would be a nice neutral flier for a beginner or lower power thrower.

I really like this disc. I found it a hair less stable than it's numbers, but it still flies very straight with reliable fade. It's very comfortable in the hands, and I've even used it on some nice forehand lines.

Love this disc.   The higher speed rating for a mid along with the extra glide really put this in a hybrid space between mids and fairway drivers.   For me, it works really well for both.   When slightly underpowered, you will get a good dive to the left at the end (RHBH), and powering it up slightly yields a long, straight flight path, with a little fade at the end.   Staple of my bag!

This disc has basically the same flight numbers as the Innova Teebird, but less speed so I find it more controllable. Extremely straight with a nice reliable finish. This will beat in very nicely and I believe it will bomb on a nice flex line.

I have thrown Glow, K1, K1 Soft, and K2 Kaxe Z's. 

If I had to pick one disc to give to every disc golfer, this is it. I love this disc.

I was throwing Mako3's for short shots which I now try to get through approach discs or driving putters. Really enjoying it for anything from long putts to 260 ft or so. Then I decided to try driving putters, which led to the desire to stretch the distance for which I threw my mid-range discs.

Mako3's were wonderful, but I wanted more stability. Chariots fit the spot pretty well, until I landed on Kaxe Z's. What a great disc. Feels good, floats good, and has a little bit of fade to try and keep it straight. Just fantastic.

I now throw these primarily from 250-290 feet. I can push 300 but have to hyzerflip some to manage the turn. At 300, I'd only stick with. the Kaxe Z if I want an understable flight path and distance control.

I wanted a bit more stability than my K1 to really rip on these without using a hyzer angle. Note- the Glow Kaxe Z I bought was less stable! That was disappointing. For this spot I use a K1 Kaxe. They are different though, the gap stability wise is a bit more than I prefer. 

This was more stable than my BT Mouvi Warship and Mako3 and a little more stable than my Chariot. I love them, and think everyone should give one a try!

These things are amazing. Think slightly slower and straighter Teebird. You can rip on this thing and still get a super straight flight !

This disc is one of the straightest fliers out there with a dependable slight fade at the end of the flight. If you want midrange control with fairway distance, then this is the disc for you. The kaxe z holds any line that you put it on and can expose faulty form quickly, but don't let that be a deterrent, because it is a fantastic disc. 

I bought the Kaxe Z because A) I have a Falk and am in love with Kastaplast K1 plastic, and B) I needed a disc to fill the role that my old River Pro used to fill.  I use a Verdict whenever I need a very over-stable approach disc and a Spark / F2 when I need something faster/longer but wanted something straighter that I could use for either distance when the situation called for it.  Yet as of now, I can't say the Kaxe Z has filled that need as effectively as I want. As primarily a FH thrower, I haven't yet mastered it forehand, but when forced to throw backhand, it's been super accurate and reliable.  FH, I don't know what my problem is.  Sometimes I turn it over; sometimes I throw it straight when I don't want to; and sometimes it flies over-stable when I want to throw it straight.  I've had some great shots with it but as of now am far too inconsistent when ripping it FH.  Still, it's a beautiful disc with a great feel that I believe could work for any level of player.  I need to throw it more until I know it inside and out, and if you do the same, I guarantee you'd fall in love with this disc and with Kastaplast in general.  

I like this disc in K1 more than K1 soft especially in the summer. Its fairly straight and longer than my other mids, so I break it out when I need an extra 50 feet but don't wanna go too long with a fairway driver. I think the k1 soft might be a bit better in cool to colder conditions, the regular k1 is better for me in the summer(its 90-100 F all summer). I'd prob bump the glide to 5.5, it goes a long way

I first got the Kaxe Z in K2 plastic (now renamed to K1 Soft I believe) and it held a spot in my bag.  I don't have a particularly fast arm, and I used it as a headwind fairway, since I never turned it over.  It was a fine disc. The K2 plastic is quite durable and I never noticed any significant flight change. It never really beat in, which is par for the course for K1 and K2 discs. That said, I liked it but never really loved it.  

Months passed, and I found myself picking it up less and less. I saw that it was available in K3, and I heard so many good things about it, I figured I'd try it out even though I'm not usually a fan of baseline plastics.  I thought maybe K3 would beat in see how that changes it.  I absolutely love this disc in K3.  The plastic is so grippy and feels great in the hand.  It does beat in very nicely, and now is arrow straight with a reliable moderate fade at the very end.  For me, released flat and hard, I get no turn and it goes about 325.  After throwing it in K3, I realized the issue for me before was the K2 plastic itself, not the mold.  By contrasting it with the K3, I realized that with the softer, more malleable plastic of the K2 made me get poor releases out of my hand that never inspired much confidence in my throw. This lead to less power and less distance.  The K3 plastic doesn't have that issue at all.  I love how it feels in my hand and I now reach for this disc quite regularly.  

Like every other review has stated, this disc fits in a weird place in the bag.  It goes noticeably further than my midranges, but not quite as far as my fairways.  This disc feels more like a long midrange than a short driver in my head though.  I would rather take out my mid that fills a similar role as opposed to taking out the fairway that does a similar job.  Based on the other reviews I've read though, this may be a contentious point.  I have a large bag, so I carry a bunch of discs, but I reach for this more than I do similar midranges.

I would recommend this disc for anyone to try out at least, but you'll have to decide for yourself whether it's got a spot.  Pick up a K1 or K3 one though, unless you specifically like soft plastic for drivers/mids. 

Picked this disc up on a whim after holding it in a disc golf store. The feel in the hand is amazing. Very comfortable. As has been said, the K1 plastic from Kastaplast is amazing. I would compare it to a grippier Star plastic. This disc is a bit odd in that it's truly a mid/fairway hybrid. It has a rim shaped like a fairway driver, but it's very thin, even slightly thinner than the rim on my Leopard. Again, I actually liked this feel, I found it very comfortable in the hand and if you like throwing fairways instead of mids, this could be a good disc for your midrange slots. 

The flight of the disc was also very good, stable but not overstable. I would say it's a bit straighter than advertised on the flight numbers, more like 1.5 fade. Still ended left on RHBH consistently. The stability and the fairway style rim also made it nice for forehands. I found long forehand approaches to be one of the best utilities of this disc. I think this would be a great disc for beginners. It's a bit slower and less stable than a Teebird, but would still make a great stable compliment to a Leopard for someone just starting out. 

The problem with this disc is it's tweener nature. I liked throwing it but it's bounced in and out of my bag because I don't really have a place for it. It's not stable enough to be a longer Roc, it's not quite as long as my straight fairways. The shots it excels at I just have covered by other discs. It falls somewhere between my Compass and Teebird, but I rarely find myself needed something in between those. I got it back out for this review though and I'm going to have to throw it some more, it feels that great. If you prefer throwing fairways vs mids, this may be a great disc for you. If you already have a bunch of mids and fairways though, this may not give you anything new.

This disc is one of the best weapons in my bag. The softness and flex of the K1 Soft plastic is amazing - creates a great grip in all conditions and also helps it sit down better to avoid huge skips away from the basket. It is rated as a 0 turn and 2 fade, but for me personally it flies more like a -0.5 turn and 1 fade - thrown flat and hard it exhibits a little turn to the right and ends straight, and its fade is more straight and penetrating than dumpy. I really like it for low ceiling tunnel shots because it doesn't need a lot of height to do its work - it will keep its neutral flight path without lifting on you. It's also super versatile - I can power down on it for 150-250 ft. shots, or I can really get into it and throw it 300-350 ft. It really holds whatever line you throw it on. In my humble opinion, it's the best disc I could imagine for a one-disc round. Overall, an accurate, reliable disc that can be used as a mid-range or fairway driver and thrown on just about every tee.

The Kaxe Z is a tweener disc between a midrange and a fairway driver (similar to the Kaxe). I thought that this disc was a bid odd because of that. The one I had was understable it turned some, not a lot, and did not fade much at all. I found it to be quite a bit less stable than the Kaxe. I prefer to have both an understable midrange (my favorite is the Buzzz SS) and an understable fairway driver (I carry a Streamline Drift and an Infinite Discs Sphinx in this slot although the Sphinx flies more like a distance driver). 

I think there's a reason most manufacturer's don't make a lot of 6 speed discs, they are a bit weird and I don't get a desired flight out of this type of disc. 

Kastaplast plastic might just be the best out there, it certainly is out of everything I've thrown personally. My Kaxe Z is in K1 and the best way I've been able to describe it is like a better feeling star plastic with more grip. 

This is my go-to mid range disc on flat layups. It reminds me of the old Discraft Hawk on steroids. It does like skipping more than, say, a Roc would, but it's a solid disc.

Amazing feeling plastic that is also very durable. The disc feels like something between a mid and fairway driver. I use the Kaxe Z for a forehand driver where precision matters more than distance.

Great disc, but given my experience I think the ratings are really being misjudged. This is the straightest flying fairway driver I've thrown. It starts off with a little turn and grows more understable rapidly. If a Teebird is the definitive 7/5/0/2, then this is definitely a 6/5/-1/1. A very gentle S curve flight with so little fade I'm almost tempted to give it a .5

This disc is perfect for 200-300ft straight shots with a moderate fade. Holds a hyzer like a dream and won't dare turn on you and just keeps gliding. K1 is the holy grail of plastics as well. Intermediate speed discs like this or the Comet are pretty few and far between so it great to have this as a stable option.

When I need a super straight midrange shot with a reliable but small fade at the end, I go to Kaxe Z.  

This is kind of a tweener disc between a mid and a fairway. In the hand it feels closer to a fairway than a mid. Its like a longer Emac Truth or shorter Teebird/Explorer. Basically, it is very straight and reliable with a small fade at the end. Not much turn, unless you get a good rip, and then it fades back on line. Super accurate and trustworthy.. It can take the place of both the the stable mid and stable fairway. One disc in place of two.. 

K1 - This is the best plastic in disc golf.  I feel like no other plastic provides this combination of high durability, reliable grip, and a softness/rigidity that works in any temperature.  

I cannot think of a more comfortable disc to hold and throw.  The rim is wider than most midranges, with no weird indention or bead, giving it more of a control driver feel. The moderate depth works for both back and forehand throws.  The nose is pointed, but seamless and smooth.  This is a normal radius disc, not wide like the Roc3/Buzz/Compass.  The top is moderately domed, but not overly pronounced, providing great glide.

The flight numbers are perfect.  Anyone that throws it will get better distance with a Kaxe Z than most any other midrange, but with a level of control that puts it firmly in the 300' and under range for most arms.  

This disc provides an almost magical straight, flat flight, no matter how hard I throw, always fading gently into a flat landing.  It will fly straight and flat even into a strong wind with the proper hyzer flip.  I can get a gentle anhyzer flight out of it, only when assisted by a strong left to right head wind.   I do not recommend for rollers.

I feel like if the Kaxe Z were made by a bigger named company, it would be legendary. 

Maybe the '6' speed throws people off, because they don't know if it is a mid-range or a control driver.   It is both.  I have even recently discovered it to be an excellent high wind putter.   

Beginners and intermediates can skip every other 'straight mid-range' and go straight to the Kaxe Z. 

Buy one now for 300 feet of straight perfection on every throw.

The Kaxe and Kaxe Z cover nearly every shot off the tee for holes around 300'. With the gorgeous look and feel of the K1 plastic (amazing durability, too, they look brand new despite some massive tree hits), there is just no competition in this "tweener" category between mids and putters. My Buzzz and eMac are obsolete (crazy, right?).

If the Kaxe is a midrange Thunderbird, The Kaxe Z is a midrange Valkyrie. Great for touch turns or straight shots with slight fade. It won't turn and burn. I suspect it would make a great beginner driver. 

This might be the best feeling mid I've ever held.  Plastic (K1) is perfect, grippy, firm- but not too firm, and my favorite: beadless.  This feels like a thicker, stable Leopard to me. It has a bit more fade than the numbers.  It's fast (for a mid), very straight with a hard fade at the end.  This is by far my favorite Kastaplast disc I've used. 

Update: I bought this in the K2 also. The K2 is MUCH gummier and it is has less fade. Just dead straight with a tiny fade at the end. I LOVE the K2 flight!  These are long for mids too.  But it's REALLY gummy too gummy on a hot day.

I recommend buying both plastics as the flights are different.  If you added the Kaxe K1 to your bag too you would have all of your stable to overstable mids taken care of :D

Oh man this disc is great! I find myself reaching for it more than any other disc besides putters. Dead straight and long flight with a slight dependable fade. It will pretty much any line you put it on at any speed you throw it. On top of all that, K1 plastic is simply the best. 

This is a MUST HAVE disc.

Kastaplast is that brand that I actually don't want to tell people about for fear that it will become tougher to get my hands on their discs, they're that good. The Kaxe Z is consistently my disc I reach for when I'm not sure what to throw. It works great for shorter drives, approaches, and just a general all-purpose disc. Starts off decently stable in K1, but as it ages it will have more turn but then genearlly still end up straight. I've had many close Ace Runs with this disc, and hit a 250ft field ace once with my K1 Kaxe. It wouldn't be my #1 choice for anny drives, but it can certainly do them. It seems to be very forgiving any not crazy sensitive to nose angle like some discs are. Of course the plastic is amazing. Just get one, its a super fun disc.

I purchased a red Kaxe Z K1 about a week ago, and I'm really impressed with this disc.

I have been playing Disc Golf for a year now and can just barely hit the 300ft mark even with my Destroyer (one of my favorite and most reliable discs). Yesterday my family and I played the best cousrse in Austria, KUMM Disc Golf, and this disc consistently got me 280 to 300ft. The chart for this one suggests it should get just over 300ft. This is the first time that my "noodle arm" has gotten close to what a chart says the distance of a disc should be.

This one flys really straight for me, with a gently fade at the end (RHBH). I have always held that there are three "must have" discs to get around a course well; a Mako, a TeeBird, and a Destroyer. I now have to add a "Kaxe Z K1" to that list.

The K1 plastic has an incredibly good feel to it with great grip, even when wet. I've tagged a couple of trees and boulders already, but nothing more than a couple of very small scratches on the disc. Seems to be very durable, even though it is quite grippy and flexible.

I've found more than one review in the Inrernet where this disc is compaired to a Buzz. I see the similarity, but this one is consistently longer and straighter for me.

I would rate this disc a 5-5-0-1, and I would imagine begginer or pro wtll find this disc very useful and suprisingly long for a MidRange/Fairway driver.

I can highly recommend this disc to anyone at any level!

The Kaxe Z is a solid all purpose disc. Like I've said in my other Kastaplast reviews, this plastic is amazing. It has the right amount of grip/flexibility, looks great, and is really durable. The one complaint I have witht he plastic, which probably has more to do with the weather conditions here lately, is that K1 plastic tends to absorb the dirt very easily.

The description on the Kaxe Z is "straight" midrange driver. For someone with my lack of arm speed I would rephrase that to "stable" mairway driver. This disc is definitely almost a fairway driver. To me throwing a 173g Z is like throwing a slightly faster glideyer Discraft Buzzz. This disc goes the distance more easily, but has the same stable flight path where it holds the line of release very well. While the Kaxe Z isn't an ideal anhyzer disc, it held an anhyzer line almost until the end for me.

The Kaxe Z is stable enough that it worked for me for forehand throws. I usually released it at a hyzer angle, but this disc didn't flip up easily on me.

If you're looking for a solid all purpose disc that is different from what everyone else is throwing. You'll want one of these beauties.
