The V.P. is another outstanding putter in the Vibram lineup. Unlike the Summit and Ridge, this is an overstable disc. You will definitely notice the hooking fade on long shots. If you were to throw the V.P. at 60 miles per hour, this disc would turn just 2 degrees, then fade 24 degrees. Because the V.P. is overstable, this is a good approach disc for headwinds, or for power throwers using it for short drives. For short putts, all players will find success with this quality, durable, golf disc.

I was lucky enough to find an X-Link Firm (175g) with just enough give to it that made the grip feel like a Medium but still had the float of a Firm.  This was originally bought to be my new 20 ft or closer putter, but unfortunately it just didn't click with me.  BUT that's when I found it's true calling............ Trick Shot Putter.  Tomahawk, Thumber, hyzer, anhyzer, floating S-Curve, any throw you need to get out of a tough spot this putter can do.  It's got float and it can hold a line from a firm flick without turning over.

I used my Vibram Medium X-Link V.P. (174g) to win a recent Vibram Birdie Bash I entered, although it seemed like I did come up short on quite a few putts.  I really like the V.P. as a throwing putter.  I feel I can step into it and can count on it to fade back to the right.  I am also able to put an anhyzer move on it and have my V.P. bend around to the right, before finally fading left at the very end.  I have thrown my V.P. a few times as an approach disc, and have been pleased with the results.

However, what REALLY disappoints me about the V.P. is the notch on the underside of the disc underneath the Vibram logo.  This notch COMPLETELY destroys my ability to throw a turbo putt.  I think putting your thumb in the notch must reduce the overall amount of friction you can generate while throwing a turbo putt, so everything comes out wobbly.  Now, I don't use the turbo putt as my primary method of putting, but I like to have it in my bag as an option to pull out when the situation calls for it.  If you know anything about turbo putts, you know that ANY kind of wobble will instantly kill a turbo putt.  So, for its inability to throw turbo putts, the V.P. will not take over as being my primary putting putter, although I think I will keep it in my bag to experiment with some more as a driving putter.

I have a 173 gram x-link medium V.P.  I use it for approaches into headwinds or ones where I want I am trying to get around an obstacle.  Its low glide helps make it easy to range without going past the target.  It is overstable enough to handle full power throws and not turn.  It doesn't have a huge role in my bag, but performs its role quite well.

    Beefy Rubber...or Rubbery Beef?

I got my first VP way back in the long ago days of 2012 when me buddy Geoff and I first found out about Vibram Discs. It was my second Vibram after I tried the Ridge. I've tried the VP in all plastics, and as a TD of two Vibram Birdie Bashes, I like to think I'm up to snuff when it comes to my Vibram discs. The VP is one of my favorites, for sure.

First, the feel. Like all Vibram putters aside from the Sole, the VP has a very flat top which helps it slice through the air and feels great for power gripping discs on drives and long upshots. Unlike the Ridge and Summit, however, the VP is a little deeper (but not as deep as the more traditionally putter-shaped Sole) and has a substantial bead. This bead helps stabilize the disc in the air, as well as keeping it from beating up too quickly...as if Vibram needed that. The Soft rubber blend is extremely floppy and somewhat uncomfortable to hold. The medium has some give and catches chains very well. The stiff is tacky and great for drives, but can punch through the chains on a hard putt.

The flight of the VP was pretty unique when it first came out, though several competitors such as the Westside Harp, the Reptilian Disc Golf Scale and others have risen since the VPs release. It has low glide, even for a Vibram disc, and a good dose of fade on the low speed end of the flight. The high speed stability is quite good...it will be hard to turnover a VP when thrown clean. It is great for sidearm throws as well. Spike hyzers are too easy with the VP. Putting or throwing an upshot into a headwind is no problem, either. The VP will hold straight and still fade.

The VP is a great, OS, low glide putter. The Vibram X-Link blends will last just about forever and will hold it's initial stability for a very long time.

Thrown the v.p. in all 3 plastics at 175g. Definitely like medium best. Soft will stay where it lands, but it's too floppy and hard just isn't good as medium. Flat top, deep disc with a bead. This disc flies like an os putter should. Very similar flight to a zone or harp, but slower and shorter. I'd rate the v.p. 2,2,0,3. Vibram medium plastic retains the same flight path forever and is highly durable. I really love how the v.p. flies. For me it's the perfect aproach/corner disc flight wise, but it just doesn't feel quite right in my hand. It's too deep or something. Instead I ended up begging a vip harp. The harp feels better and is a bit more versatile do to its distance potential. just have to be careful not to overthrow the harp on up shots and it doesn't stick quite as well. Overall amazing disc for up shots and headwind. If you like deep discs with beads get this disc. If not I suggest a harp or a zone. My throwing specifics: I throw mostly at sea lelevel in moderate to high humidity. I have a high arm speed and I like to throw with a lot of spin and snap. I'm 6' 5" with an 80 in wingspan.

Mine is Red and Pink with a super flat top!

2 days ago I was playing with my daughters and drove a short hole on a Hyser with this disc.  As soon as I released I said "it's in"!  I slammed the chains on the drive hard and it fell out!  This happens sometimes which I am totally OK with.

Great driving putter if you have a headwind or need an overstable disc.

Not sure why but I can really hit some amazing putts with this disc!  From the circle and in it just does the job.  I really did not know how I would like this disc but it has given me great confidence on putts.  Love it!

I actually have a Firm and Medium, but I like the Medium better. This disc is my go-to for upshots that require something special. Definitely a great disc for a headwind but what I really love it for are sidearm approaches. I can really snap this thing sidearm and trust that it won't turn over and finish back strong. Or if I need to get around something, this thing while hook back like a drone, only it's slower obviously. Great for putting too it you like putting with something overstable.
