The Vibram Valley is part of the second generation Vibram fairway drivers. Compared with the Trak and Ascent, the Valley has a thinner flight plate with more weight density in the rim of the disc, a more contoured grip and an improved wing shape.

The design of Valley is based after the ultra popular Vibram Lace. This slower fairway driver is extremely versatile and will hold a strong anhyzer line all the way through the end of it's flight. The improvements made over the older generation Vibram fairway drivers make this disc an excellent choice for disc golfers of all skill levels.

    X-Link Medium - 171g

This is from the perspective of a newer disc golfer who can only throw about 250-270' on a really good rip. I've had this disc for about 6 months and have used it for a few dozen rounds.

I love the feel of the rubber. As mine wore in, it gained this chalky, powdery feel that is totally different than any plastic I've felt. It's a comfortable and confident grip for me, and really turned me on to the idea of rubber discs.

It flies as advertised. When I first got it, I had a fairly slow arm speed and it acted pretty stable on ~150' shots. As I've been working on my form and throwing faster, it's been extremely rewarding to see it fly straight ~200' with an easy fade. I've just recently been throwing it ~250', and I'm beginning to see that slight -1 turn, so this has been an excellent disc to show me that I'm getting better.

The durability is unreal. I have accidentally chucked this thing full power into trees 10' from the teepad, and you can't tell at all. Even my champion plastic discs have wear and some rough spots from tree hits, but this rubber is on another level.

In conclusion, a great and durable beginner fairway driver! I'll be keeping this in my bag for a long time to come.

    X-Link Medium, 166g

I swap this in and out of my bag with my Discmania FD, for when I play a course with a lot of rocks and stumps, because the Vibram rubber holds up a lot better and does not show the wear and tear like other plastics.  I lose nothing in performance.  My Valley turns a little easier, but also fades a little harder than my FD, with the same end result being a reliable, straight landing right around my target.  I just aced a 350' hole with the disc never leaving the center line more than about 20 feet.

One thing you notice about this disc right away is that it feels like a much faster disc in your hand.  It has the low profile and sleek nose shape of a much faster driver.

RHBH:  I use this disc for straight/tunnel shots with little to no head wind and/or with a tail wind.  I have 350' typical driving power and can get this disc to reliably fly just the way the flight path is advertised with a flat release.  If you are a recreational to intermediate player, this could very easily become your go-to distance driver.  It has just the right combination of turn and fade to get you past 300 feet, without having to throw it so hard you lose all control.  Get one a little heavier if you have more power or are wanting it to fight the wind a little better.

RHFH:  This disc has the stability to handle a medium power forehand.  The advertised flight path can be achieved with proper form/release at about 46mph.  If you throw a bit harder than that with a flat release, it will hold a gentle anhyzer turn over a long distance and then fade right at the end or just settle down with no turn.  This can be handy in certain situations.

Buy this disc with confidence.  I believe that it can do something well for just about anyone.

Great disc! The rim is small yet a little sharp. Makes the grip a little uncomfortable. The rubber is good and solid. It can handle various hits without damaging its integrity.

The flight of the valley holds true to the flight path and numbers as depicted. It is very consistent and reliable. It is slightly understable, enough that if it is released on an anhyzer it can easily hold the line. But this disc can easily handle power without going to the right.

Overall the Valley is a solid disc. It is very consistent and easily controlled.

Overall, this is an awesome disc, and you owe yourself to try it out if you haven't.  I have this disc in the X-Link medium.  This blend has a lot of flex, and a great feel to it.  You can bend it pretty easily and it will snap back to shape.  If you throw this straight into a tree with some power you will see it fold in half then bounce right back off the tree.  The rubber is very durable as well, after many tree hits and concrete/asphalt landings there is hardly any nicks along the edge.  This is an incredibly versatile disc.  I have found it is good for forehand and backhand shots, hyzer, anhyzer, and straight line shots.

Just about the only con I have found for this disc is that it loves to pick up dirt and mud.  Throw it into a soft patch of dirt that has been wet recently and it will stick to this disc like crazy.  It's a good thing I carry a towel with me.

I feel I owe a review to this disc here on infinitediscs, because of what this disc has done for me.

FH it is not completley forgiving, BH I am not crushing this disc out there, but what this disc is for me is finess. I can easily stand there and FH this disc 250' on a low straight shot. Give it a little air on a hyzer and it can follow a short woodsy dog leg heading straight to the basket. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to learn to forehand because of the great feel when doing so and the fact that it will show flaws in your form, but will not crush your hopes and dreams just because it is not perfect yet.

I have to say that my first Valley was a disappointment--it flew like a Teebird for me, and that wasn't what I was looking for, so I traded it off. I then threw my son's Valley on a lark one day, and that disc flew exactly as advertised. I then bought another Valley for myself and this one flies for me the same as his did, which is with the characteristics listed for the disc.

I gave the Valley a shot as part of updating my bag and searching for a replacement for my long-time favorite driver which has gone OOP. (There's a downside to having played this game for so many years.) Among the disc models which are supposed to fly similarly to my old favorite, the Valley is the one I've tried that comes closest, so it landed a spot in my bag.

I can launch the Valley with anhyzer or hyzer and predict the line, as it holds consistently in varied winds. I can get a consisent carry distance. It works well in most conditions and that consistency is what I look for in drivers. It's looking good as my go-to choice for when I need a fairway driver (and is complemented well by other Vibram fairway drivers).

Got mine in 170G Med. X-Link for the purpose of getting used to not having a track in the not so near future and what I have found so far (after one round of use) is that the Valley makes a good replacement for the track. I have a beat in 170G Med. X-Link track that I almost exclusivley hyzer flip and I essentially get the same flight path with the brand new Valley when releasing flat. I would say that the given flight ratings are very accurate for the way I throw the disc (avg. 325 to 375 foot drives RHBH) and I am loving the way the thinner flight plate makes the disc feel softer than it actually is. All in all I can see this disc really becomming a work horse for my bag and plan on throwing it a lot! I would strongly recommend this disc for someone looking to upgrade from the Ibex or any beginner looking for a transition from fast midranges to fairway drivers. You will not be disappointed!
