This was my first overstable Fairway, and hands down my favorite! Out the box, it has a nice straight flight with reliable fade. Once it's broken in, it is a flip up machine! Throw it on a little bit of anny, flips to flat with a little fade and goes for days! Always finishihng with that easy fade. I have been throwing the same one for over a year and it still feels and flies as good as day one. Highly recommend!

I field tested the Rival with half a dozen other discs with identical or very similar flight numbers, throwing back and forth into and then with the wind (RHBH). Interestingly, I found that they all were pretty comparable: Differences were mostly a matter of how the wind happened to gust at a given time, or if I had a bad or particularly good throw. So no performance issues to note with the Rival, and the flight numbers work for me. The Icon plastic feels good and seems comparable to a swirly S-Blend, having kind of a cool, marbleized look. The disc is well made, with no flashing or noticeable flaws. Hopefully it proves durable over the long haul. Beginners with a bit more native arm strength/speed might do just fine with this, though the beginners I've happened to work with have normally done better with less stable discs. I've been really pleased with the pair of Legacy discs I've tried out so far (the Phenom in Pinnacle plastic is great!), and I look forward to trying out several of their other molds soon.

Great disc, the Exodus has a bit more fade and stability being my reason to bag both. Hyzer flips well and rides super super straight. Great Icon plastic, not too shabby for forehands as well. I've hit almost 400ft with it so they handle torque very well. Point and shoot for sure great disc 

The Rival as the name suggests can go up against any other disc with similar numbers. It flies straight with a nice smooth fade. Once used for a few months you'll start to see some turn and increase in distance.

The Rival shines with any throw. It holds a hyzer very well and will not flip up to flat. Even with a little turn a flat throw will still fly straight without too much turn bringing obstacles into play. And it nicely flights out of an anyhyzer coming out flat, so you can navigate trees easily. I highly recommend this disc a go for experienced and new players alike.

This is my got to overstable disc from 250 to 320 feet. You can always count on the fade at the end to drop you into putting range. For higher speed throwers thrown flat, this disc will fly straight until the very end of its flight. I got it as a mystery disc and I love this disc!

The rival is my go to fairway. I have max weight and I have light weight and they are so versatile. I can throw flex shots with my light weights and I can throw a straight shot with a nice reliable turn at the end. I would recommend this dis to anyone looking for a good all around fairway. 

Thrown on a hyzer angle this disc will hold that angle well, however if thrown flat or slight anhyzer a full flight can be achieved. Great disc for any skill level, easy to use and great for any distance or control shot.

I received this disc as a Mystery disc and I am so glad I did. Its a very reliable fairway driver and acts identical to the Innova Teebird. If you like the teebird I would recommend trying this disc.

This disc is a must bag for any skill level. The rival is so much more consistent out of the box then any teebird I ever had. This disc is kicking every single teebird out of my bag currently. It flys straighter and longer. Give one a try, trust me you won't be disappointed. PS: icon plastic feels a lot better then Star plastic in my opinion 

I've had this disc (under the Kaufinator branding, in pinnacle plastic) for just over 4 months now. It is the most thrown disc in my bag for a reason. The grip on this disc is perfect for someone with medium sized man hands and I have never had it catch on me on a release. While this disc certainly won't go as far as something with a bit more glide, this disc fights wind excellently and gives me much more control over my shots. The top is flat, not something I really care about but some people seem to prefer that over a dome.

The one quazi-complaint I have with the disc is that the pinnacle plastic really doesn't beat in. This is great because the disc will last me forever but I was hoping this would turn into a very straight disc eventually. I honestly recommend this for anyone who has the arm speed for a 7 speed driver though, it's the best moderately overstable one on the market.

Got this as a mystery disc and man it has already become a consistent pull from my bag after only one round. It has just a little turn with enough arm speed or anhyzer from the tee but has a nice consistent finish to the left (RHBH). Will be consistently using from now on.

This is very similar to a TeeBird.  It seems like my Icon Rival broke in faster than expected.

Faster eagle! Rumor has it that it was modeled after the beloved 11x eagle from Innova. I carry two current. One in pennical  for straight to stable finish and  one seasoned icon for S cure or hyzer flip with a stable finish.

The Rival, an excellent disc!! Flys like a dream!! Very Workable. If you are looking for a great reliable fairway this is it.  Perfect step up once you master your understable fairway of choice and will compliment well.

If you find yourself with a new teebird that is way too beefy.  Do yourself a favor and buy one of these.  You will not regret.  I bag 3-4 of these at all times.  My favorite being the 5yr glow.  

The shattered and sparkle rivals are the only ones I have not thrown.  I believe they are on the more stable side of the spectrum, but take that with a grain of salt. 

Stability as follows from my experience with a rec/intermediate arm. Maxing these out at 330-350

New pinnacle (the translucent plastic) > Legend > New swirly icon > Old pearly pinnacle > Old icon > 5year color glow,

Give legacy and the rival a try. Grab one of the icons or a 5yr color glow if you can find one.  I know they are out there.

For me, this disc is almost interchangeable with the Teebird. I was looking for a replacement for the more difficult to find Gazelle, but the Rival is definitely more Teebird like speed-wise.

I love the Icon plastic. Stiff but grippy. 

I get a very straight flight with predictable fade when throwing forehand. I rarely throw the Rival backhand, as I usually disc-down to the Gazelle due to my weaker backhand shot.

Highly recommend. Propbably not a good first disc, but appropriate for beginners and intermediate players who are beginning to get into more stable discs.

I had a 171 Icon rival, this was a very useful and very used disc in my bag. This thing could flat out go far for a 7 speed and I found myself throwing it more even on longer holes as I trusted it and knew what it would do. If you throw this with some power you will get some turn out of it, not a full -1 but I would say a -.2 to a -.5 with it more to the -.5 as it seasons in for you. The fade isn't a very hard dumping fade but a really nice forward penetrating fade to fight for that few extra feet at the end of its flight. Pair this with a patriot and most of your fairway shows are covered, I could throw this with just a very tiny amount of anhyzer and power down some and it would flex out. I hardly ever threw it as a flex shot as I used something more OS for that. This would still be in my bag if I hadn't lost it in some super thick undergrowth one day on an errant throw. I would compare it to a Lat 64 explorer which is what I got to replace my lost rival. 

If you are wanting to try out Legacy this would be one of the first discs I would recommend getting. 

Last year my brother loaned me a 2017 McBeth Teebird3 while he was out of town. It was flat, fast, and straight as an arrow. It was really hard to give that disc back! Ever since, I have been searching for a replacement to fill my stable fairway driver slot. Every new Teebird or Teebird3 I've seen has been extremely domey--you can't find flat ones at all. I decided to take a look outside the Innova line-up.

I bought a max weight Icon Rival. The plastic is like stiff Star, with a little bit more swirl than you see with Innova. My Rival is mostly flat, but it's still a tall/deep disc for how flat it is. Decent grip, feel in the hand is okay. If the disc has one weakness, it's that it's not as comfortable in my hand as my other fairways.

The Rival's flight path is awesome. My max distance is about 400, and I usually throw fairways for shots in the 250'-350' range where I need consistency, accuracy, and not a lot of left-right movement. The Rival is perfectly straight with a fade of about 1.5 for most of these shots. I didn't see any turn except for one shot where I put it out to around 360, and even then it was never in danger of flipping over. Light headwind doesn't faze it; haven't tried it in heavy wind. This disc doesn't have loads of glide, but that is a pro for me as I like to keep fairway drives low for the sake of placement. My rating: (8,4,0,1.5).

Comparisons:

Crave: Crave has a little more turn but less fade and glide. I bag both-- my two favorite fairways.

Explorer: Has more glide, and a hair more turn and fade than the Rival. Still a pretty similar disc. Not currently ITB.

TB3: More inconsistent than the Rival. The ones I've thrown are a hair more OS than the Rival.

Overall, very solid disc, one of the best TB alternatives along with the Explorer.

Teebird? Never heard of her. The Rival is everything you want in a fairway driver and more. It flies true to its flight numbers right out of the box, and thanks to Legacy's amazing plastics, it will stay in that perfect spot throughout many rounds. Incredibly straight flight with the most reliable fade you could ask for. Pair one with a Patriot and look no further for any other fairway drivers again.

Ok, it's time to speak up about this one. I have a Teebird3 pre-release in CFN plastic (basically champ) that is one of the best fairways ever to me. They don't make these normally, as they are all Gstar and won't fly the same as the pre-release. It's beat in just perfect, handles globs of power, controlled turns when I want them and has less fade than a normal Teebird, yet still super reliable. It's everything you want from a fairway driver. 

A Rival is this exact disc only better feeling and longer lasting plastic, right off the shelf. I have retired the gifted TeeBird3 and I will only be carrying a few Rivals and a Patriot from now on for my 7s. To me so far, there is not a better Fairway driver(s) on this earth that I can buy and play the same day that throws this well. Pinnacle and Icon are two of the best plastics in the disc world and they seem to hold their characteristics forever, as well. 

As a stubborn Teebird3 lover... I cannot deny that the Rival just feels and flies better. Legacy has my attention!

I decided to give the Rival a try because I kept seeing comments on the interwebs along the lines of "I used to throw a Teebird, but I use a Rival for that slot now". So out went my Champ Teebird, and in the bag went the Icon Rival. Well, lets just say I don't see the Teebird making it's way back into my bag anytime soon. Basically, for me the Rival fly exactly like the Teebird - dead straight with a moderate fade at the end - except the Rival flys an extra 30-50ft for me, with the same amount of power, every time. I just love watching this thing fly far. It's one of the most reliable discs I bag now. There's something about the rim shape that just feels super comfortable in my hand too, and the Icon plastic feels fantastic - just the right amount of grip. Once my first one of these beats in I'll definitely be cycling in another one! 

Throws like a teebird. Also it feels more comfortable in the hand than a teebird for me. They look identical in shape except for the inside of the rim. The taper feels so different from the teebird way better honestly. Im sold.!

We've all heard or seen the advertisements from other companies when it comes to discs like this: "its a Teebird clone!"  Are they ever really Teebird clones.  Nope.  So I was hesitant to even both trying the Rival.  I mean, what is there not to love about the Teebird right?  Its a tried and true fairway that has earned its place among the ranks.  Well I'm sure I'm not the only one that I has tried to love Teebirds, and I simply dont click with them.  I had one Teebird that I loved and lost.  Since then, they only feel OK in my hands.  Im not a fan of current Champion TBs and the stars I have are too domey.  Well I'm here to tell you that Legacy got it done!  I can comfortably say that this is the ONLY disc claimed to be a TB clone, that is a TB clone.  If flies exactly how my older, flat Star TB flew.  Laser straight, finishing casually left.  Not a dumping fade like some new TBs I have.  Im so glad I decided to give it a shot.  I'll always have a TB because a disc stash isnt complete with out a nice TB, and you never know, I may go back to them from time to time.  But the Rival is no joke.  It stands next to the Teebird as an equal.  And in Icon plastic, it feels awesome.  Grippy, not too stiff, consistent in flight, consistently flat, and quite durable.  But a Rivial.  Buy three of them.  

I have 2 Rivals: 170g with a gummy/softer Icon plastic and 173g with stiff red Icon plastic.

Definitely my favorite fairway driver. Comparisons to the teebird are definitely warranted, and I would also agree that this disc has less glide than a teebird. The weight and stiffness of the plastic greatly affect the relative stability of these discs. My lighter/gummier rival flies dead straight with no turn and hardly any fade for about 330-350. The stiffer one fades harder at 350, and goes dead straight with little fade to about 380. 

My club won the legacy giveaway and we ordered a bunch of rivals and they have INSTANTLY gone in 5 of my friends' bags--replacing probably 10 or so teebirds/FD's/other fairways. The dead straight flight, predictable fade, and grippy Icon plastic make for an unbeatable combination.  If you try out any legacy disc, let it be this one!

I have the Rival in Icon plastic 174g and it is a very consistent disc. The Rival has the same ratings as Innova's Teebird, and some people compare it to the older molds of Teebirds. The Rival seems to be a little more consistently flat than new Teebirds. Compared to my star Teebird, the Rival provides me with a little more stability and wind resistance.

I really like the profile of the Rival, and the way it feels in my hand is fairly comfortable. The Rival is a fantastic control driver that will give you a reliable flight every time. I love how the Rival can be thrown at various speeds, but will perform virtually the same, only traveling different distances. Most of the distances I use my Rival for fall between 330-370 feet. Even when I rip the Rival full power it will just bolt strait, and fade consistently at the end. It even deals with a fair amount of headwind before turning over. Although, I have thrown my Rival a small number of times in some medim winds and been surprised that it turned over.

This is my go-to neutral/stable control driver, it doesn't provide me with the greatest distance, but it does provide me with the greatest control. After it is a little broken in, or if you have some good arm speed, the Rival can become a pretty shapeable disc. Everyone should have a Rival type disc, it provides a very important shot that should be in everyone's bag.

The rival has replaced every teebird I own except my 11x KC Pro and for good reason. It's a perfect representation of that disc that flies further and more controllably than the teebirds I have picked up in the past few years. Every time I play a round with only three discs this is my driver due to the reliability and confidence I have in the shot.

The icon plastic is very durable and has good grip even when it's raining, I'm sweating or there's a bit of dew about. I love consistency in discs more than most and every one I have gotten has been identical to the last. That's a lot to ask for but it makes a big difference when you know you can trust a disc as much as the last.

It took me well over six months of constantly throwing the first one I owned before it started showing any signs of being understable. I would know more about it by know but that one's in a river. It's sorely missed.

I picked up a couple of these recently to see how it compared to my Teebirds and I was very impressed. They are definitley a little faster than a TB and just as stable as STOCK Teebirds. The guys at Legacy are great and the name says it all, the Rival rivals the Teebird. Great disc!
