The Savant is a 9-speed driver, capable of good glide and a very predictable fade. It is comparable to the Innova Eagle, only a bit faster. It is a great mold for both beginners and advanced players, as it is easy to control and is a disc that can be relied upon.

I lost my favorite beaten in Star Teebird that had a long, straight, glidey flight. This fills up the exact same slot fresh out of the box. I don't love the hand feel of 7 speed discs so I'll probably only throw this in my long neutral to stable Fairway slot.

I'm not sure this disc fills a slot in the Innova fairway lineup. I would say it has the rim of a Valkyrie with the stability of a thunderbird.

My friend who throws 350 wasn't getting much flip out of it on a BH hyzer, we both liked the feel though. I wouldn't reccomend unless you are a contrarian and don't want to throw a thunderbird.

I found one with no name on it and love it. It flies like a faster, slightly more stable halo tl3. Long straight shots with a straight skip, perfect for staying on the fairway!

I purchased this disc as part of a collection. I have not thrown it. What I can say is that the disc quality, packaging etc was ideal. Thanks Infinite!

This disc is awesome. Handles forehand torque well (needs an ever so slight hyzer out of the hand of your throwing it max torque), and flies straight as an arrow. I lost this disc in the water on a hole I didn't normally throw it on and struggled to find a capable replacement. Tried a tesla, but it beat in to become too understable for sidearm. Tried a used champ teebird3, but it'll turn and burn on a sidearm. Recently found a used star thunderbird that's been the closest thing to it. The thunderbird definitely won't turn,  but doesn't get quite the distance the savant gave me.  It's hard to find a star savant, but if I could get another one I would. I saw some halos but with that kind of overstability I might as well get a thunderbird and save the extra $.

    I have a 173g 'Star Halo' Savant.

I am 63 yrs old with max distance of about 300 ft.... So basically a noodle arm ;-)

For me the Savant flies (RHBH) with a gentle hyser to straight out of the hand and then finishes moderately strong at the end of flight, usually with a nice little flair skip.

I'd say I am consistently getting this disc to go about 260 to 270 ft.

Forehand throws display a little turn and a strong fade at the end of flight... again with a nice little flair skip.

Into a pretty strong head wind (RHBH) I get some visible turn, but this disc holds it's line well and finishes nicely to the left. Seems quite reliable into a head wind.

    173g Star Savant

I regret buying this disk.  I was looking for a slower Destroyer that I could exercise a higher degree of precision over.  The Savant is, in fact, hilariously overstable.  Far more overstable than my Firebird.  I have thrown it on a roller angle into a headwind and had the disk flip over into a sharp hyzer.  It is exactly what I would imagine throwing a Discmania Tilt to be like.

I don't have a monster arm but I can consistently get my Destroyers and Wraiths out to 350 feet.  I already have a Firebird that I like as a control driver for headwinds and which is far easier to throw.  I'll carry the Savant until my next high risk, over water throw then it's going to be "Splish-splash, takin' a bath" time.

One of my favorite discs. Been playing about 2 years, don't have a big arm (about 350 is my max).  This disc always does what I tell it to do...nice reliable s curve, one of the few discs I can get to shape reliably...is very tolerant of less than perfect form and release.  Not sure about other plastics but in Star is terrific.

A good straight disc for back hand and flick shots. Similar to a thunderbird but less overstable more neutral but still with some fade. Good disc but It hasn't made my bag. Its to similar to my through space athletics mantra.

This mold has basically replaced every control driver in my bag minus my Firebird. This is a further flying and more glidey Thunderbird. At a full powered throw this has a beautiful turn halfway through the flight and fades gently at the end. At 80% power this holds the straight flight lines really well.

Once this disc breaks in the turn/fade becomes very predictable, which is when the glide really starts to shine and your distance begins to grow.

With an average/intermediate arm speed I'm averaging 300-330ft throws.
