I throw lots of Rocs. For a decade, the Roc3 has been my go to straight midrange. Everyone needs a disc that will go 250-300ft dead straight and every Roc3 I have ever used does exactly that with a little fade at the end. For years, I always had a 180g Champion Roc3 in my bag. When I lost it I would go get another one. When you first get one, it will have a little bit more fade at the end, but in my experience, this dissapears pretty quick. For about two years now, I have been using a 180g MF Champion and it is still my go to disc for every straight shot in the 250-300ft range. I will also use it for slow turnover shots under 300ft that I want to fade a tiny bit at the end.

I also have two 180g Star Roc3's that mostly get used for fieldwork but occasionally get shuffled into the bag. These are a little more understable and fly a little more like a KC Pro Roc, but they feel great in the hand. Finally, I have a 180g Glow DX Roc3 that I use for fieldwork. It also flies dead straight and can hold a nice high anhyzer line. This is one of the few discs that I prefer in the Champion plastic. It just feels trustworthy and the Roc3 what I grab when I need a trustworthy disc.

I also throw Roc's and RocX3. Roc's have more left to right movement than the Roc3, and the RocX3 is like an overstable Roc3.

If you don't already have a go-to straight midrange, give the Roc3 a try. It is not for everyone (I think some people don't like the bead), but Rocs have proven themselves to be excellent discs. Beginners will probably find this disc a little more overstable, but it is definitely a disc that will help you develop form and that will grow with you. This is one of the few discs that both a beginner and a pro can use effectively in the same ways.

One of the best midrange disc I've played with. Just the right amount of stability and fantastic glide to utilize for any number and of shots. If I could only have only one mid in the bag it would be a Roc3. The star plastic feels great and has the slow break in period I want in a midrange. Also came with a triple stamp misprint, which I think looks really cool.
