The Sockibomb General by Dynamic Discs is a powerful new overstable distance driver, joining the elite Supreme Series lineup. Developed in collaboration with 2x World Champion Ricky Wysocki, the General is designed for players with strong arm speeds seeking to achieve maximum distance. For those with slower arm speeds, it serves as a dependable, consistent disc that excels in windy conditions.

Ricky Wysocki describes the General as the "pushing hyzer disc we all needed," offering substantial glide and a trustworthy finish for both forehand and backhand throws.

For mastering headwinds and precise fairway navigation, the Sockibomb General is your go-to disc.

I picked this up on the recommendation of a friend who said they were throwing their General further than any other disc in their bag. However, I didn't realize that they had the Raptor eye Fuzion version, not the orbit version. This disc is beefy. No, it doesn' do what I want it to, but I'm just rethinking my use for it. It will probably become my headwind fighter because I KNOW it will not turn into a headwind. I'd still like to give the Raptor Eye version a chance to see if I can indeed get big distance with it, because I certainly can't with this one.

If you're looking for the DD equivalent of the Calvin Halo Destroyer, this has to be close.

I've thrown the General quite a bit, and it seems to follow the trend of a lot of Trilogy discs being slightly more understable than the numbers say. However, this disc is still very overstable, but maybe closer to a 3 fade. If thrown out of the hand on a straight line, it will dump pretty hard, but if you put a little anhyzer on it, it gets surprising amounts of distance before it comes out of it. This can lead to some massive shots for more powerful arms. There are other discs very similar to the General for a lot less, but if you're a collector like me, and price isn't a huge issue, the General feels and flies amazing!

I have to agree with RobbyG's review. There's nothing special about this disc to warrant the extreme price tag. It's simply House of Discs' attempt to recoup some money. The General flies pretty well if you can throw 400 feet, but it's not as overstable as the marketed flight numbers would lead you to believe. I'd say it's no more stable than most fresh, max weight Destroyers. Put it on the slightest bit of Anny and it'll bomb, but so will a buch of other discs for $10 less.

The flight of this disc itself is great. I think this disc is slightly less stable than the most overstable halo destroyers and I would most closely link it to the best stable run of force in flight and it's in a much better plastic than discraft has available (my own personal opinion of course). It gets very little to no flip when thrown with about 400-425 feet of power, but it will hold straight for a noticeable portion of the flight and will then have a nice pushing fade. This disc does not dump. It has a good glidey fade that provides a great mix of distance and reliability for people who have good distance but are still working up to pro distance. I don't think it compares to a Nuke OS or PD2 and I think many people (especially those with larger arms) would want to bag a more overstable driver to compliment this one. Overall, if you ignore the flight numbers and the baggage this thing comes with it has a very desireable flight with a great hand feel in fantastic plastic.

Onto the baggage. Right out of the gate I think 12 4 0 4 makes people think this is a PD2 type disc and it's not. If you're a power thrower and you go to this for a distance control/ stand up to any headwind level overstable driver then I think it's going to get up and go a lot more than you expect. Then there's the very hard to miss $33 price point (read $40 after tax and shipping).

TLDR; this is a really nice disc with less stability and more glide than the numbers sugest.

Not as overstable as a rive, I believe because it is a 12 speed instead of a 13. Feels very similar in my grip and is awesome plastic. Little easier to push straight than the rive and goes straight in my bag.

*NOTE* I only give 5-stars out to discs that I bag and throw actively. A 4-star disc is great. It may come in and out of the bag for me, but I could see another player actively bagging it.

This is a disc that you wonder why it exists. At a price point of $32.99 I can't see very many players actually buying this disc unless they are diehard Sockibomb fans. This is a fast and overstable distance driver and very few players are going to have an actual use for this disc.

This feels like any other fast overstable driver. Most of them have a slight dome, but I'm sure that most players will find this to be fairly comfortable in the hand. HOD (House of Discs) has extremely high quality control with their manufacturing and the General is no exception to this rule.

This flies very similar to an PD2, Nuke OS, Conqueror, Enforcer, or Hypercane. If you're unfamiliar with any of those molds, fast, low glide, and great for headwinds. I don't see many players using this disc unless they're throwing 400+.
