The Athena is the sixth disc in the Paul McBeth line from Discraft. It is an all-purpose fairway driver with a light end-fade. The Athena can be used when distance is not as important as landing with excellent control.

True to the numbers. Very nice disc from Discraft. A little flatter than my teebird but very similar flight. I own 2 in ESP plastic - the first I got is a little more US and I can hyzer flip, the other is a little more stable and will not turn for me but will go nice and straight before fading at the end of the flight.

The quintessential straight-stable fairway driver. Reliable fade, without being dumpy. Can handle full power forehands if you can control your angle and give it some spin.

If you are looking for the Discraft version of the Teebird or Instinct, look no further. I truly believe it is slightly faster than the Instinct, but a little less stable than the Teebird. It will push forward hard, and will ALWAYS have a realible fade at the end. It will not dump, but fade left (RHBH) as it pushes forward. A wonderful addition to any bag.

My favorite disc. With 350 feet of max power this is the perfect disc for my 250-300 foot straight shots. Absolute beauty.

In my opinion, a 164 Gram Athena is one of the most beginner friendly discs made. I often reccomend flipper discs to friends trying disc golf for the first time, but lately I have been putting an Athena in their hands. The late stability still allows a beginner to achieve decent distance, while also seeing a flight path in need of improvement.

As a more intermediate player, I LOOOOVE the Athena for forehands. With it being a 7 speed, when thrown around 80% power, this disc goes straight as an arrow for 225 feet or so. It is so useful on my wooded, technical courses in West KY.
