The Mammoth comes in Daredevil's Flex Performance Plastic and offers slighty more turn than the Sabertooth, but still has the same predictable fade found in the Sabertooth. The Flex Performance Plastic feels great in the hand.

The Mammoth rocks. It's a staple in my bag, one of my farthest flyers. BUT I have found that color makers a difference in this mold (and just this mold, timberwolf shows
no color difference). In yellow it's like a Canadian thunderbird, straight yet longer, fights the wind, reliable finish. In white and orange it's beef. Think firebird in a gStar plastic that lasts forever and firms up nicely in winter weather. I have multiples that I use for fieldwork, no nicks nor gouges after more than a year of regular use.

Go get one! And get a timberwolf for easy distance and controlled annys. You won't be disappointed.

I do wish daredevil made some glow plastic for the winter night rounds tho...

Ok, I try not to update a disc but rather evaluate it after I've had a chance to really play a lot with it. The mammoth was one that I jumped the gun on a bit. Out of the box and in good condition the disc flew just as I described below. Start hitting a few trees and beat in the disc a bit and it changes quite dramatically. Perhaps it's the soft Flex Performance plastic, but this disc seasons fairly quickly and while it is still an awesome disc, it mutates into something significantly different. This disc now feels like a timberwolf that can snake through trees instead of threading them. A touch of anhyzer gets this thing riding a beautiful line before flexing out, but too much and it rides it forever, whereas brand new, the thing fades back like a Flick. If you don't go overboard, you can carve some magnificent throws with the seasoned mammoth, but don't expect it to fight out of a turn like the flight chart would indicate. That's making me drop a star off of it because it really doesn't fit in the massively OS category anymore

Every now and then you come across a disc that on its first toss you think, "dang, this disc is something special." This was that disc for me. I'm not new to very OS discs; I love the Discraft Raptor, Discraft Machete, and the MVP Deflector, and I learned to throw consistent flick flex shots with these discs. But the Mammoth left my fingers slicing through the sky and arcing back ever so gracefully, the touch of high speed turn making the flight that much more exotic and elegant. I kind of feel like if I could ever beat in one of my z-raptors it would fly like this Mammoth did right off the shelf. To that end, I imagine the sabertooth would likely fly like the z-raptor, so I'm glad I got the Mammoth instead. The flex performance plastic is comfortable to grip. I don't think the fade is really a 5.0, but it does fade a touch harder than my raptors. All in all, while the timberwolf is my new go-to precision BH driver, I'm fairly certain that the Mammoth will become my new go-to FH flex driver

I love the Mammoth, it was my intro to Daredevil and I haven't looked back. When I first started playing I threw a lot of tomahawks off the tee, so I went looking for a very overstable driver and came a cross this one. The Flex Performance plastic is great, it's got a nice feel to it and has a good amount of flex, but what I really like is how durable it is. As I mentioned I started off throwing a lot of overhand/thumbers and as a result have beaten the daylights out of this thing and it's still stands up. I recently got another one, but only because I found using a white disc in the snow wastes a lot of time each round.

The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because, while its an amazing tomahawk disc, I have a really hard time controlling it backhand, so it's become more of a niche disc for me. With that said, my Mammoth will never come out of my bag.

The Mammoth is a very cool entry into the market by Daredevil, and the flight is super interesting. It's a control speed driver in the vein of a Firebird or Predator, but has some differences from the average control meathook.

It comes out quick and likes to be thrown hard, the lack of glide means you have to throw it hard to get any distance, but it's fast enough to cover a bit of ground.

I saw some turn out of most of my throws with it, but not a lot. When thrown flat it goes straight for about the first 250 ft, then turns a bit and your thinking, "well that's not so overstable" and then you immediately eat your words when the disc begins to slow. This big L shaped hooking fade kicks in that allows you to get through tough doglegs and preform some cool aerobatics.

It will stand up to a headwind, but not as well as something like a Firebird or XXX that has expactly NO turn. The cool thing is, when the wind is up and the weather is bad it gets better.

The grippy flext plastic is almost a perfect blend of a durable firm disc, that when under pressure is flexy and has a slightly gummy hand feel.

My farthest throw with it was last winter when I thew it 425 into a vicous crosswind with snow coming down(GA version of snow at least) and the coldest day of the year(25 degrees).

If you live in a cooler climate, now that they come in colors other than White. I think it should be compulsory for your bag.
