Definitely a meathook disc as its supposed to be, but not speed 14, more like speed 12 or 13 at best. I got this disc at just about max weight over 174 grams to see if it would fit the spot in my bag as maximum distance in the worst of headwinds and just far hyzers but I'm almost certain I will find better discs for that. After throwing it plenty on the field in headwind, it performs well as I wanted it to but considering the fact that the rim is 2.3cm wide and there are discs with rims as wide as 2.5cm (which oddly enough are often rated as being slower(disc companies need to get this stuff to a perfect science sooner rather than later)), I think a faster disc with a wider rim like a boss, ape, ballista, nuke, stilleto, etc. will fit that special spot in my bag. I haven't thrown the gray jay more than 420 in any conditions so it isn't more than speed 13. If I was David Wiggins or someone I'm sure I could throw it like the flight chart shows, but I know he could throw a wider rim disc farther than the gray jay on that same type of line. I'm leaving it in the bag for now because I can throw it into some rough headwinds and it goes stable and far but not sure it will stay in the bag. It's like a speed 12 slightly beat in firebird or xcaliber or something like that. So I have a use for it, but it doesn't meet the expectations for which I got it for based on the ratings of the disc. It has a pretty domey top, and the plastic has good grip and feels good in the hand and feels similar to how an xcaliber probably would feel (both have 2.3cm wide rim). I had a star xcaliber once but didn't like it because it had less glide than advertised and more turn in a headwind than I expected, it was pretty flat topped and flew like 12/3/-1/4 (I know there are domier better xcalibers than the one I had). So the gray jay probably perfectly replaces/makes up for what I got my first xcaliber for. No more than 430ft. (for me) and fully overstable. One day I will find the disc for a 500ft. (or more) only hyzer as long as my distance keeps improving.

I recently purchased this disc for a specific purpose and was not disappointed. I'm a predominately sidearm driver (lefty) and found this disc to be as true to the flight pattern as any disc I own. I tend to put a lot of torque on my drive and it appeared to be very resistant to high speed turn when thrown flat and it didn't turn out like my Xcaliber or Ape tend to do. I laid some pretty heavy annhyzer on it in a subsequent drive and it still finished with a hard left. This was enough for me to find a permanent slot in my bag for this disc! Based on this, I'll definitely be trying more discs from Daredevil. Sasquatch coming up!

Definitely a FAST meat hook and certainly NOT for beginners.

I got the Gray Jay with the idea that it would be a very nice overstable driver to compare to things like the Enforcer, Ape, Stiletto and others due to the gaudy claims of it's flight numbers. I have to say that for me it did not come close to living up to that claim. It is much less overstable than the numbers indicate and flies more like 13/4/-2/3 in my experience. The look and feel of it are really nice, and the stamp is great. It's got an enormous dome that helps it have a bit of glide even though it's got a late sharp fade. Forehand I couldn't keep it in the air, it rolled on me almost every time. Backhand it was better though, I was getting 375 with a sharp late fade and it felt pretty nice, but overall it was a very hard disc to dial in.
