I got two Albatross discs.  Old flight number said speed 14 glide 4 turn 0 and fade 5.  Great disc for full power forehand with small fade.  Backhand is more like utility disc for me.  I have enjoyed this disc.  Flight number have been updated.  That is when I got the 2nd one.  It's not the same to me. I need more time to throw that one to understand and how to use it in the game.

Definetely not as overstable as what is stated. This disc can easily be turned over when thrown flat but alway ends up coming back. I tend to throw this disc as a hyzer flip and have gotten past 400 when throwing 100% on a hyzer with it having a fairly reliable flight path.

This is a monster of a disc and it is very very fun to throw. However I have found that even though it is advertised as very overstable it is very flippy when throw at 100% for my arm. Over I can get it out right around 320 into a head wind

I bought the Albatross on a whim, hoping to get a little more distance on my drives. I was not disappointed. I have a couple of holes on my local course that I could get to circle 2, but rarely to circle 1, with the Albatross it's always circle 1. The 5 fade is not an exaggeration, it will fade at the end of it's flight.
What I really like about the Albatross is how comfortable the rim is. I would expect a 14 speed disc to be uncomfortable with a wide rim. The rim is narrower than the 13 speed Yeti that Daredevil makes, and it very comfortable to hold, not at all like I was expecting. The high performance plastic is great. I'm very impressed by the disc overall. I bought a 165g where I normally throw 170-175 drivers.

Edit: The above review was based off an older Albatross with the flight numbers 14,4,0,5. I purchased a new Albatross after losing mine and it had new flight numbers, 14,6,-2,3, and felt much less stable. The newer one had no dome where the old one did. I have since replaced it with a Blizzard Champ Ape for a similar flight to the old domey Albatross I really loved. I knocked down the rating to a 3 since I was very unimpressed with the new Albatross. However the new one would be much better for newer players looking for some extra distance.

This wide rimmed, domey driver is NOT for beginners and I'm not sure if intermediate players would like it, unless they have a BIG arm.

First, I find it VERY overstable.  I thought maybe the "5" fade rating was an exaggeration. Now I'm not too sure it's an underestimation. I feel the glide rating is also a bit high.

A few other reviewers found that when it fades it falls out of the sky and bounces. I had the same thing happen when I threw it fairly high. On low line drives it fades normally, but when I say normally I mean it fades HARD.

The plastic is very firm. Perhaps if it came in Daredevil's grippier plastics it might be easier to control.

I'm still playing with this, as I can see it's value if I have to hyzer a driver hard left (I throw RHBH).  A really big arm could throw this a mile, but I'm not that big arm, apparently.

The albatross is not exactly what I expected it to be and I think that was for the best. I don't consider myself to have a big arm when it comes to throwing my drives, so I wasn't sure if I could handle a 14 speed driver that was this overstable. I noticed quickly that it wasn't as overstable as I thought it would be but it dove nearly straight down at the end. I could usually get the albatross to fly straight for 250+ feet then it would fall to the ground almost perpendicularly. If it ever landed on a flat surface such as just a field it would usually bounce 10 feet into the air and go slightly more to the left(RHBH) which I found really amusing and surprising the first time it happened.

If I were to bag this disc I would use it for shots where the basket is located under a group of trees and I would attempt to throw it where it would drop straight down in the trees. Besides that use I don't think I would use this a lot, although I could see someone with a bigger arm being able to use it for other shots.

The Daredevil Albatross was a pretty fun disc to test out. I haven't thrown a lot of Daredevil, so I am not sure if this is true for all their molds, but this disc is NOT true to its flight numbers, so do NOT let the 0 turn and 5 fade scare you away from giving this disc a try. That being said, the Albatross is an overstable disc, and though I said it isn't true to its flight numbers, I suppose it kind of is but in a different way. I think you'd expect something with these numbers to just start fading right out of the hand, but this was not the case for the Albatross. It is a very domey disc, and the one I threw would hold straight for a long time. It didn't really turn at all, so in that sense the 0 turn rating is accurate, but then after a little over 350 on a good throw it would fade, and fade hard! It used all that 5 fade at the exact same moment. So in that sense, it is a dumpy overstable disc, but one that you can really get a lot of distance out of still. I think the large dome is what allows it to hold straight for so long and just glide forever before making the sharp fading finish.

I mentioned that I haven't thrown a lot of Daredevil, but I can't say I was overly impressed with the High Performance plastic. It feels different than other brands which isn't a bad thing, but I just didn't have a lot of confidence in it personally when I threw it. But if you feel like trying out something new and different for that max speed driver, give the Albatross a try and I don't think you will regret it.

The Albatross surprised me. I have to admit that I was not expecting much. I don't throw a lot of Daredevil, so I'm not even familiar enough with their flight ratings to know how well they compare to other brands. So, I just picked up this domey distance bomber and decided to throw it as hard as I could and see what happened.

The flight characteristics are indeed a bit strange. It is high-speed, for sure, so you can definitely throw it with as much power as you desire. But it's the fade that was odd for me. Even without throwing it very high, the Albatross would reach the end of it's straight-line flight, and then make a bizarre fade. Instead of angling and fading out to the left (I throw, rhbh), the edge of the disc dropped steeply downward and the disc fell out of the sky at a steep angle. It came down so steeply and suddenly that the edge would hit the ground with the disc in rolling position, and it would bounce around quite a bit, even rolling another ten to twenty feet before tumbling over.

For distance, the Albatross was quite effective (that extra bouncing and rolling got the disc further, for sure), but it was a little bit hard to time the fade and land it with much accuracy (again, the bouncing doesn't help for accuracy). So, I tried throwing it on a high hyzer, and I found that it would work really well when you want to get over an object at a significant distance, and then have the disc just drop out of the sky, like over a line of trees where the basket is close behind and you don't want the disc to glide too far. I also tried it with a flex, anhyzer release, and the disc fought back with great distance before dropping to the ground.

So, even with its quirky flight tendencies, I enjoyed throwing the Albatross and give it four stars as a high-speed utility disc that could come in handy in certain situations. Plus, I'm just a sucker for a disc that finds a way to travel an impressive distance.
